Seems to be great so far. Christmas present so haven't used it a lot yet. Gave a 4 star because it has a huge sticky part on the bottom. There was sticker previously there. You think they would have cleaned it off before shipping. Used goof off and it was fine. Good buy though. Hope it works great when my daughter uses it.
The computer came fast considering I chose 1 day shipping. There was a small dent near the trackpad and some minor scratches on the case but considering this computer is 8 years old I expected that for the price. Came in a huge box and with a brand new charger. Was slow at first but sped up the more I used it. Just minor issues that I can most definitely look past.
For being a used computer, it does pretty good. Battery doesn't last as long as I hoped, but I wasn't expecting it to be the best. Everything works like it's supposed, and there is some physical damage like scratches and cracks, but it doesn't effect the laptop. I wish the computer had started like it was brand new, but the company who cleaned it had a blank profile set up. It doesn't effect the computer, but I was hoping I could start it as if no one else had been on the computer. Other than that little complaint, it's perfect.
This is a great MacBook Pro at a very decent price. If you want Mac and don't want to spend the money for a new one, buy a refurbished one that is certified and the savings will add up. I have bought several and will buy several more. Once you own a Mac, you will never want anything to work or surf on.
I just wanted to say thank you to both Apple and Amazon for making this a really good deal, I just ordered this Macbook Pro 13 to gift it to a friend of mine, opened it to load the Microsoft Office Mac 2008, and let me tell you this, the machine was so cool, fast and reliable. I'm going to purchase the higher specs one for myself though I really don't have any cons about this one but let's say that I want to avoid a later on upgrade to mine, the screen is so amazing, I own and worked on all kind of LCD's, computers (HP, Dell, IBM Thinkpad, Sony Vaio, Toshiba and others) and this by far was way better machine, the boot-up speed was fast enough to notice, every Vista or Windows 7 or whatever MS OS you may have is terribly slow compared to this one, it's got everything anyone could possibly need, Office software, iWork looks great, I've tried it at Apple store and didn't need it at this time because I ordered MS office (if you work on Excel spreadsheets and Access you would need this as iWorks doesn't support advanced Macros and other features comes from Microsoft, what you're not told when you but the Microsoft office is that each package you get (you pay around $120) for that, you get 3 licenses to be used on 3 different Mac's, so that's a really cool thing if you;re buying/own more than one Apple computer. updates are reliable and secured and it only take few minutes to download them and install them, no waiting for 30-45 min on PC, I just wanted to say that I really liked this product.
First off id like to take responsibility for part of my one star rating. I could have read more or even paid closer attention to the description for buying a used Mac book from the vendor (maybe I just missed it). Truth be told I'm more of a PC guy and my knowledge of them is mediocre.
Main reasons for regretting g this purchase would have to trouble shoot to the moon to even see if I can run a current version of iTunes. Which I didnt think would be possible on a Mac, my trouble shooting led me to needing to purchase additional software and even when I did install it my Mac now runs very sluggish. On a bright side I my Mac book will tell me I have updates and to install them I have to restart my computer. On the down side every time I try to restart it freezes and then refuses to download the updates.
* Going for the Oreo compliment system* On a bright spot with the one question I brought up to customer service for the 3rd party seller they were prompt to respond.
If you're on the fence either save the extra buck and buy a new one or a refurbished one from apple.
