Review by person that replaced the inside parts of this machine!
on June 7, 2017
I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like I need to write this one.
First off, I want to mention that I bought a 2011 MBP with intentions of replacing battery & HDD & RAM. The item was described as "good - certified refurbished"
The product came in a very sturdily packaged boxes & packing peanuts.
The product itself looked like it went through a monster-car rally. It was banged up, lots of dents, scratches, you name it. The screen was probably the only thing "new" about this thing they sent me. The keyboard had a nice polish of use and grease on it.
Now on to the insides, as I was replacing the battery, I noticed that the piece of plastic that connects the battery to the laptop was broken. This could only have meant that the battery (which had about 500 of 1000 max battery cycles) inside was previously replaced (with what I don't know) and tempered with. Paying 500 dollars for a 2011 (6 year old) product, I want to know that what I'm receiving is at least standard quality product, not half used or thrown out parts that are put into the frankenstein products these guys are selling and calling "certified refurbished".
I do not recommend this product to anyone, even if your intention is to revive this old machine, for this price, you can get i5 cpu's that are in the more recent generations and ssd's pre-installed.
