I have never been able to wear a regular watch. There’s something in my body chemistry that causes them to stop and never run again after a month. I don’t have that problem with this one! I bought a cheap series 2 refurbished to test it. I upgraded to the series 5. Nothing wrong with the 2. They both work about the same. But I needed the Fall Detection feature on the 5. I’m retirement age and had 7 big falls, some dealing with ice. One time I fell backwards down a flight of basement stairs and almost broke my neck. Grabbed onto the railing on the way down that softened the blow. No broken bones yet but have been very sore. Two if my adult kids live in the same apartment building, but they work so I am alone a lot. This feature calls 911 and your emergency contacts to let them know you fell and your location if you do not reply and turn it off. It gives me a peace of mind. I also like to use the fitness part if the watch. I’m a couch potato and don’t regularly exercise like I should. But this gives gentle reminders throughout the day to stand up and get active. It counts steps. I do little things so far like parking the car farther down in the lot and the little things add up. I highly recommend this watch. No manual but easy to figure out. YouTube and Google search for the hard questions.
Edit: my old watch was 38 mm. The new one is 40 mm. The smaller bands will fit on a 40 or 42. I had a nice collection of 38 bands. You do not have to buy new ones. This is why the replacement fun bands will be described as fitting more than one watch.

Edit: I just found out Apple has discontinued certain items but they are still available new and refurbished from third parties. They are still capable of system software updates. Discontinued: Apple iPhones 6, 6s, 7, 7s, SE first gen, 10xr, 10xs, Apple Watch 4. Apple Watch 5 is an upgraded version of the 4. They didn’t want to keep two production lines of almost identical products open. Not cost effective.

Not totally thrilled with Apple. For the price you pay for their product you would think they would be more durable. I bought my first Apple 4 watch a year ago and scratched it the first week I had it when I brushed it against my kitchen counter. I started wearing a screen protector. However because of the shape of the screen, I constantly had to change to protector out. Unfortunately in-between switching my protector my I dropped my watch 3 ft to the floor and the face shattered! Of course Apple couldn't do anything but charge me basically the cost of a new watch to replace the face. I ended up buying this Apple 5. Now I have a bulky cover to keep it safe. However if this one gets damaged from my normal wear and exercise, I am going back to the Fitbit.

This is a 100% real and legit Apple Watch! I am a first time Apple Watch user and I love it! The watch is a good size and comes with all products needed such as charger and adjustable band. My watch came brand new and was package in the original Apple packaging. The only con I would say is that the battery lasts about 24hrs. You definitely have to take it off and charge nightly if you plan on wearing this watch daily. So far I have used most of its functions such as talking texting and workouts. I love my watch plus it was much cheaper to buy on amazon than in the Apple store!

I told myself that if I run 50 miles in a month, I could reward myself with an Apple Watch. I did it! I was really, really looking forward to this!

Unfortunately it's a huge disappointment. The battery life is super short (12 hours, shorter if you did an hour-long run). It doesn't have native sleep tracking (probably because you need to charge it overnight for it to work during the day). It doesn't recognize when I'm working out even when my heart rate is in the 100s for minutes at a time (resting is low 60s for me) - I have to tell it I'm doing a body-weight workout or whatever in advance. Conversely, it's overzealous if you're moving around - it had asked me to log an "outdoor walk" every time I was running an errand. At some point it gave me a "tip" to consider switching off my GPS while running to preserve battery life. Uhhhh... what is the point of a fitness watch if you can't use it to track your runs??? It does come with all manner of bells and whistles, but I just wasn't using them. I'm young, healthy, and run in the middle of a city. I don't need heart attack monitoring or emergency 911 calling when it's detected a fall or whatever. Ended up returning it after giving it a try for 2 weeks, and going back to my $60 Huawei band. I know it's crappy and there are better fitness trackers out there - but the Apple watch is not it.

I have a few close friends who are moms and love this thing - they say it allows them to be with their kiddos without looking at their phones all the time. So, maybe if you're not using it as a fitness watch, it's great. When it comes to fitness watches - yes, I saw all the research about how this one has the most accurate this and that, but if the battery is dead you can't use any of it. Take the SIGNIFICANT amount of money that this costs and invest it elsewhere.

I reluctantly bought this watch after years of deliberation. I couldn’t justify the cost vs the product. I wish there were more watch faces to choose from. I have a job that requires me to be very accurate down to the second. Besides that I love my watch! Battery life could be longer but it does the job I need it to do. I’ve never been a person who checks my phone frequently this watch allows me to see the important notifications on my wrist without carrying my phone! Buy it when they go on sale. Don’t get the newest one they're are all too similar to justify the extra $200 for one stupid app on the newer version.

I was able to ditch my old FitBit Charge 2. I have the Smaller 40mm and these 54 year old eyes can see everything just fine. No remorse here, and Amazon sells all different bands and case frames so I can change it up. I got the base model aluminum with the white band— with extra bands and frames, it looks different every day. Just go ahead and treat yo’self, you’ll be glad you did!
