iPhone 4S is great starter iPhone

Purchased an iPhone 4S that was used yet in excellent condition from Amazon's Warehouse Deals for eighty bucks. The listing for this particular iPhone said it was in "Used - Good" condition. However, it was in really EXCELLENT condition. No scratches and no blemishes on the screen or on the back. The metal bezel frame also appeared to be in excellent condition. It turned on and could be activated. No icloud lock and not blacklisted. The iphone updated online easily to iOS 8.3 which is currently the latest iOS at the time of this review. Have purchased eight used iphones here on amazon and have given iphones to my sisters and can say that the iPhone 4S is a great safe starter phone if you want to get into Apple iPhones.

Note that this is an AT&T iPhone. You can use it on AT&T and on AT&T GoPhone. And you can use it on any of the many AT&T MVNOs such as H2O Wireless, Airvoice, PureTalk, Consumer Cellular, and others. Also, you can now get the AT&T iPhone unlocked cheaply and legally and therefore be able to use this AT&T iPhone 4S on Tmobile or any of the various Tmobile MVNOs such as PTEL, GIV Mobile, Ultra Mobile, US Mobile, MetroPCS, and the others that are out there. Currently have PTEL (a tmobile mvno) on this AT&T iPhone 4S after unlocking it via a cheap three-buck unlocking service found here on Amazon.

I went through 3 Android phones in less than two years before finally spending the extra money to get an iPhone. The main reason: everyone I talked to who owned an iPhone already had been using the same phone for 2 years or more. When you combine the costs of all the Android phones I had purchased in the same amount of time, I spent around $900 on phones, so the extra cost in an Apple product is justified when you take into account how long they are built to last.

The phone is extremely simple to use, the range of apps available make it easy to customize your phone, and it syncs with my iMac perfectly (something I had severe problems with on the Android phones).

While this isn't the latest, greatest model of the iPhone, it is still a massive upgrade in phone quality compared to what I was used to.

I suppose I am happy with the product considering what I paid for it I am a little upset that certain things were omitted in the description. The volume button doesn't work. The home button is slightly off an only works when you push really hard. I expect some scratches and dings but the seller should have mentioned the rest. There is a work around so it can be controlled on screen so it's no big deal. I just don't like that the seller left those things out of the description.

The phone came in good shape, but after only a week of use I realized something horrible. The battery was shot. It would go from fully charged to 92% after unplugging it, to 75% 5 minutes later, showing a 20% warning when it had just said 40%, but then showing 12% after clearing the 20% warning message, then shuts off at 9%. I can't afford to not have a phone, so instead of sending it back, I've ordered a battery replacement kit. Just bummed that something refurbished, that is supposed to be tested, wasn't tested on something as important as the battery life.

This was the worst purchase i have done through AmAZON, normally every things goes fine, but this time instead of sending an iPhone 4S (FOR WHICH I PAID) I got an iPhone 4, And this one I can unlock (the iPhone 4s I can) so, practically I haven't been able to unlock it and it is not what I paid for, also the round button does not work. And finally they sent me the wort charger!! I got a charger for an iPhone 5, so i couldn't even charge the phone. :(
I live in Ecuador, so returning it and sending it back is not an option….
