Update: I contacted the seller and it seems that they were able to resolve the issue with AT&T on their end.
THIS PHONE DID NOT WORK. After 1 day of use (after I switched my AT&T SIM card from my old phone and put it in this one, it stopped recognizing the carrier. It only connected to wifi, and I couldn't receive or make any calls. AT&T told me that when they looked up the IMEI number of this new phone, it was still registered as INVENTORY AT BEST BUY. They said that a phone will work for a day or so before AT&T recognizes it as a device belonging to a store (in this case, Best Buy), and they automatically put a "device restriction" on the phone so that it is not usable. While AT&T assured me I hadn't bought a stolen phone, I didn't understand how it could have been a legit purchase from the Amazon seller, Electronic Deals. AT&T told me there was nothing they could do, and that I needed to contact Best Buy to get a receipt, showing Electronic Deals had bought the phone. That got me nowhere, so after 5 HOURS of digging around, making calls, and live chatting with different companies/people, I went a mile down the road and bought a new prepaid AT&T iPhone SE for $150. Took it to the AT&T store, and they switched over the SIM cards and now I have a legit, brand new, working phone. I'm not saying that Electronic Deals acquired this phone illegally, but it certainly did not arrive as stated: Prepaid, AT&T. Electronic Deals doesn't handle customer service on weekends, so I have not been able to contact them. Thankfully, because they are a "Fulfilled by Amazon" seller, Amazon handles the return. I will drop off this item for return, and I should be getting a full refund within 7 days of the phone arriving back at Amazon.
Do your research on the SELLER before making any electronic purchase. The reviews for this specific phone are mixed because there are multiple sellers who have this item for sale. The iPhone SE retails for $350, and I bought this brand new for $203. I’m an existing AT&T customer, so I took the SIM card out of my old phone and popped it the new one- took all of 10 minutes to restore from an earlier backup, and it’s up and running! Definitely a great deal. Super happy with this heck of a deal!
