About the Author

Blanche Marriott began writing romance novels in 1991 while balancing her career as a wood products manufacturing manager. She often joined the troops in the factory, working on sanders, drills, and saws. It gave her time to "talk" to the characters in her head and figure out what they would do next. In 2001 she switched careers and now works for a CPA firm as an accounting assistant, specializing in payroll.

She has completed 14 novels while staying active in 2 writing groups, serving on the Boards of Directors several times, and a number of conference committees. But the best part was the life-long friendships she's formed with so many writers, published and unpublished.

Her first published novel, KALEIDOSCOPE, won 2nd place in the 2003 WisRWA Write Touch Readers' Award for published authors. Her second book, WAY OUT WEST, won the prestigious New Jersey Romance Writers' 2003 Golden Leaf Award for Short Contemporary. WAY OUT WEST was also a finalist in the 2004 Virginia Romance Writers' HOLT Medallion Awards.

Her current novels are APRIL'S FOOL and HIS BROTHER'S BABY. She also has a non-fiction humor book, BORN TO BITCH, chronicling life's little annoyances.

When not writing, Blanche enjoys gardening, reading, and playing with her grandkids. You can visit her website, blanchemarriott.com, or email her at blanchemarriott@cox.net, or follow her on Facebook (Blanche Marriott)

This was so much fun! I loved the characters, and I laughed out loud. Unusually for this type of book, we get the same amount of time in Michael's head as we do in April's, so his transition from playacting to loving makes sense. Great writing, flowing dialogue, no typos that I remember. Also, this is a clean book - no sex, no offensive language. The epilogue particularly made me laugh; I had forgotten that one hanging detail and loved the resolution. I would recommend this book to anyone, and I will definitely read it again.

April thinks she's only fooling her friends when she creates a wedding album using Photoshop and some pictures from a client's recent nuptials. Until the alleged groom is dragged into the fray. Now she and Michael are pretending to be husband and wife in the hopes proof of his "family stability" will get him the promotion that's so close and yet so far. Along the way, April will be forced to fool her ex-boyfriend, her parents, and herself into thinking this is no big deal. What a delightful story with an ending that had me giggling. A feel-good, fun romance!

What happens when a joke happens to turn into the real thing?

April plays a practical joke but it turns up on Micheal's desk. Micheal who is a known bachelor finds this joke not so funny when it gets around the office that he is "married" to April a female that he has never met. So he goes in search of her to make her fix it but when he finds her, he is instantly attracted to her and decides to hatch a plan. They stay "married" to get him, his promotion.

This book has a cute love story that starts out as a joke and becomes the real thing. Of course during this there are bumps and douche bag ex that make this an interesting read.

I am not usually a romance fan. I try them every now and then but I usually can't get past the predictable ending that is clear from the first couple of pages. I have too say, even though this book was totally predictable, it was written well enough that it kept my interest. I liked the characters enough to read through the predictable storyline. the fact that I read the whole book is a testament to the quality of the character portrayal.

Two people, workaholics, good looking, smart, kind. These are the main characters. When you meet them, you instantly like them. To actually achieve their life goals and then see that the important thing in life isn't a career but those you have in your life. How adorably sweet the man is. The gifts gives her to win her over. The constant nos he receives from her. The sweet love they both share.

What made me the happiest was when he told the true story on the cruise and made everything right. That was the knight in shining armor moment.

Pretty predictable where it would end up, but the ride to get there was well done, and made it worthwhile.

This romantic comedy is a great read. April makes up a fake wedding album to pull a prank on her friends. Only April uses a man, Michael, who works upstairs as her fictional groom. But when the book is accidently left at a restaurant, it gets delivered to Michael's office. Michael wants a promotion, his boss wants a family man for the job, so he gets her to pretend to be his wife. Things start to get complicated when things get steamy and Michael starts to fall for her.

April created a fictitious wedding album as the perfect April fools joke, but it backfired! It was meant to be a joke among friends but she inadvertently leaves the album in a restaurant, a waitress recognizes the 'groom' and returns the album to him. An avowed bachelor, he has no idea how he came to be in the album. A feel good story that will leave you smiling.
