Product Description

Size: 7 X 7

AquaGuard is a latex-free impermeable moisture barrier that protects surgical incisions, dressings and vascular access sites while showering or sponge bathing. Keeps the site dry, helping to protect against waterborne bacteria. When ordering, select the size that is slightly larger than the actual area or device needing coverage. For areas needing range of motion such as knees and elbows, purchase one size larger than area to be covered.

I am a breast cancer survivor who had a bi lateral mastectomy. Upon being discharged from the hospital I was instructed to keep my incisions dry while showering. The nurse suggested I use saran wrap and tape. Once home I researched protective moisture barriers and ended up purchasing Aqua Guard. Aqua Guard was an amazing product much easier than saran wrap and tape. When applying the self adhesive moisture barrier you have to be sure to place it correctly. "Top" needs to be applied to the top of the breast as to avoid leaking. The two bottoms sides have small opening to allow tubing to go through. I purchased the 7 x 7 size but the product is available in a 10 x 12 size. Again I would highly recommend the product and it is Latex Free!Aqua Guard Moisture Barrier, Latex Free, 7 X 7 5 ea

I bought this product because I have a central line that I need to keep dry when I shower. The product leaked and I had to have a nurse come and change out my dressing. Never again. Besides, I found a better product called LiquaShield that doesn't leak and you get 7 sheets in a pack & it costs less than Aquaguard's 5! Do the math...this was a no-brainer for me.

I bought the 7"x10" Liquashields because I have a PICC line in. Have been using Saran wrap to cover the area, and while that worked, it was just wasteful and took a while. So I picked up these shields and the times I've tried to use them, I got yelled at by the Nurses for getting the bandages soaked. Not just wet, soaked, I tried several, exactly as they instructed and couldnt seem to understand how water was getting into the leak proof pads. Well I guess it helps if the tape they use actually overlap rather than leaving big gaps for water to come through. I started looking through the ones I have and all of them have these little spaces that seep water in if taking a shower. What a waste of money. I was going to be your biggest fan because I cant do without a shower in the morning and now Im probably your most disappointed. An infection along with everything else Im going through is not something I need. [...]

I wanted to be able to take a shower after surgery. The hospital gave me a few aqua guard barriers to take home with me. They were so effective that I reordered these to get me thru the time where the shoulder had to stay dry.

The adhesive didn't stick, and the four separate pieces of tape (one for each side) made it very difficult it apply. I bought it to see if it is better than the Shower Shield brand, but I'm going back..

Go with Tegaderm brand if you truly need wound sealed from moisture/water.

I had high hopes for these based on the reviews, but even following directions to a tee the adhesive didn't hold for more than 10 minutes. Might be barely acceptable for a quick shower where you don't encounter direct water....but if that's the case you'd be better off using saran wrap and/or taping a plastic bag over your wound site.

Great for covering a tri-fusion port below the clavicle when in the shower and when Glad Press & Seal will not work...

This guard has done an excellent job of providing water protection for a large wound, making showering possible.
