Tried it first time today. Tied some parachute cord to the ends to loop it around my neck and set out on the canoe. When attempting to get out of the canoe....well, let's just say I'm not the most coordinated person and I ended up on my hands and knees in the water with one leg still over the side of the canoe. My kindle, being looped around my neck, was floating on the water in its case. When I managed to get out of the water, it was absolutely fine.

This was not a complete immersion, but not a drop of moisture got in - and, what's more, I realized it wasn't even zipped securely. I'm not sure if I didn't check it properly or if the zip-loc strips just came undone from awkward jostling while trying to paddle, but since the vinyl continues well past the strips and then folds in on itself and is secured by velcro it was still sealed enough to land on water and float for 30-90 seconds without issue.

The glare on vinyl: It wasn't an issue. I saw nothing when I was at a good angle, and even moving it to see how it might glare, you can just hold it slightly differently to let it puff up a little and it's gone again.

Possible issue: The closure of the strips is hard to tell, but it still kept my kindle safe when it wasn't even properly sealed.

Overall, fantastic product and cheap to boot.

Used it in the pool couple of times, and put my iphone and other valuables in it on a kayaking trip - worked perfectly.

I had a waterproof hard case that I put my kindle in that finally became unsea worthy. I do quite a bit of kayaking and I read while others fish. I took this case and it kept my kindle free of water and sand over our 3 day float trip. I use it in the shower/bath with great success also. It has not had to weather an overturned kayak yet or been submerged underwater but I think it will fair well. I didn't have any issues with glare while reading on the water and my on off button was accessable while in the case. I didn't have to open the case to turn it on or off which I really liked. I would recommend this case. Does have a padded piece inside to help with some drop protection. I was very happy with this case!
Update- after a few camping trips the bottom of the case developed creases which formed holes. Case started holding water. If this is just for the bathtub it may be okay for you, for any sort of outdoor use, I would not trust it. Clear plastic is not as tough as I hoped.
