This ointment is thick enough to prevent a mess or to apply as a thick barrier, yet can easily me smoothed in to leave a very thin coating.

The thickness is similar to anti-bacterial ointments found in tubes. It is thicker than petroleum jelly.

I have used Aquafor to protect healing tattoos (recommended by my artist) and for post-surgical wound care (recommended by my surgeon). According to my physician, this product is good for those people who might be sensitive to the ingredients of anti-bacterial ointment.

This is a larger sized tube that provides a better value (lower cost pet ounce) than smaller sizes.

I originally bought a tube of Aquaphor for skin "slugging" which is a weird TikTok beauty trend of leaving a layer of this on your face overnight to leave skin plump and moisturized. I used it for slugging maybe twice and then ended up using it for TONS of different things. This is now a staple product in my home.

It is reasonably priced, comes with a lot in one tube so it lasts a long time, applies like a thick ointment and stays on well with minimal absorption into the skin, doesn't have a scent, and is clear.

I use this as a skin barrier on sensitive areas of my face before applying retinol (helps with overdrying those areas). I use it for my baby's diaper changes as a skin barrier and when she gets a diaper rash. It is also now my FAVORITE chapstick and I use it every night on my lips before bed.

I am always finding new reasons to use Aquaphor and I LOVE this product. I own it in the tube, the stick, and the jar. I would HIGHLY recommend having a container of this stuff in your home because it has come in handy for me over the past few years!

I love aquaphor, it heals all my dryness of my skin and the cracks on my lips during the winter. I started using aquaphor specifically for my lips and discovered how smooth and kind it was to my skin and so I purchased this and it’s a bigger bottle than what I purchased in the past which I really appreciate because this last me quite a while. When I was using diffirin gel, I had really dry and red upper eyelids (even when I didn’t apply it on that area) and when I put a thin layer of aquaphor on it at night, after a few weeks it was no longer dry and red and the irritation was also gone. Overall great purchase and I appreciate that it was sealed in packaging.

My dermatologist had recommended using this for dry skin and in areas to speed healing. I bought a 3-oz. tube in a local drug store and have used it for months. When I went to Amazon, I found the price per ounce was better, but the only tubes were 1 oz and 7 oz. I bought the latter. It works about as well as my prior tube, and I like that it's odor-free. I don't mind that it take a while to be absorbed into my skin unless I rub it hard on the dry area..

However, the ointment is substantially more viscous that in my 3-oz tube - I really need to squeeze the tube hard to get the ointment out. (I'm physically fit with good hand strength, and I still have some ointment in the 3 oz tube for comparison.) I checked the reviews again and saw that others had the same experience. To me, this is a small inconvenience, not a showstopper. I assume that the company makes a single such product and the viscosity difference is either due to age or warehouse storage conditions.
