I don't need to know who made the man's black tshirt, or that he wears Hanes jockstraps, or uses Cuddles toilet tissue.
At some point it gets in the way of the story-telling.
Characterizations only fair, plots a bit Superman, but the broad situations are pretty accurate.
Dialogue is pretty simplistic but overall a decent read.

The Iranian forces are trying to wreak havoc in the area and have sent teams of their special forces – Quds – into the country. Pat and his Special Forces teams are sent to help as the west needs to stay out officially from interfering with the Saudi/Iran problems and chaos being caused on the Arabian Peninsula.
I found the action went along at a good pace and was very realistic. There is a little too much technical information given about all the vehicles, planes, guns, etc being used – but others may like all this detail. For me, it slowed down parts of the story. This book is also about the political tensions between east and west and what effect the imbalance in one country can do to a whole region.
Pat is a strong character, who is essential to the majority the book, and we learn a bit about his past as well as his current work and his life. He and his team happen to be in the right place at the right time and have to try and thwart the Iranian Suds teams. Lots of twists and action in the book to keep your interest.
I received an ARC copy of this book through Hidden Gems, from the author, and loved the action parts and twists. The excess military terminology, whilst somewhat too much, didn’t put me off reading the book and I quite enjoyed it. I would definitely read another and would like to see what happens in Pat’s life down the line. I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
