I ordered three of these and for two of them, a side panel was broken. I called customer service and they were great and got another panel ordered from the manufacturer for me (one I was able to fix with a good wood glue). I agree with a previous reviewer that said that the holes were not setup on the side panels, so that in putting them together, I actually broke my cheapie drill and had to go to the more powerful one. Even with that, I couldn't just screw the screws in, I had to drill a hole first. All that said, I would buy another one as they are a great value for the price....especially for cedar. They provide plastic for the bottom, but since that could "drown" your plants, I recommend using some good weed barrier at the bottom instead. You might get some "dirty" water drainage, but your plants won't drown.

This planter was a real pain to put together alone. If there is a helper.....it would have been a lot easier. It is a perfect height for back saving gardening. It was also a real,pain to try to fit and staple the plastic liner inside as well.,I wish they had recommended applying a teak oil to protect it after assembly. It has weathered this summer but it has held up quite well. I should have followed my initial instincts to reinforce the staple assembly with wood screws to insure it stays well assembled.

This was easy to put together eventhough the instructions were almost non-existence. I would suggest that you use a powered scredriver because it is difficult to screw in by hand. I stained it a chestnut color and love the end results. It came with a clear plastic underlayment, but I used landscaping cloth so the water drains from the garden bed. I planted my swiss chard, lettuces and radishes in it. I can't wait for harvest time. The bottom shelf is a huge plus. I store my extra flower pots on it or you can use it for your shade loving plants.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and will buy another one for my herbs.

This item does look as it appears in the photo. But I concur with some of the other reviews that complained about the holes not matching up. Also, I thought based upon all of the descriptions that I would be able to put casters on the legs so that I could move this more easily. However, after putting it together we realized that the legs were not wide enough to put on casters of a size that would hold this when full of soil. Further, the top has already got cracks in it despite the fact that we put polyurethane on it to help preserve it. (After less than a month in the late spring!) A little disappointing but it is otherwise a good product.

I did seal mine because I wanted to retain the natural grains and not have it 'silver' with age. Per usual, the holes did not line up exactly so my husband had to do some fiddling to get this to fit together properly. I lined it with landscaping cloth before putting in a layer of stones and then my potting mix. I didn't notice in the picture how the legs narrow toward the bottom. This looks a bit off to me, like the legs are not straight although they really are. My flowers are doing well in it and I try to focus on them rather than the odd legs. I plan to change this out for seasonal interest.
