Ardent is the first installment in the ArcKnight Chronicles a paranormal romance about two packs of shifters. Two sisters one destined to be the Queen of the pack the other her little sister each has a future that neither one expects. Rafaela is to be married to Gil the future pack leader but while she may be invested in their future marriage it’s clear that Gil isn’t as faithful. Lily’s Ardent Talisman is stole but she covers for the friend who she know stole it and ends up banished from the only home she’s known. Forced onto the streets in the middle of two waring wolf packs could mean death for most but even though she’s royal Lily won’t give up without a fight.
When Lily encounters a rival wolf she finds a strange connection and the support she so desperately needs. Ephrem at one time was betrothed to marry Lily but before that could happen everything changed, but he never stopped thinking about her. Now that she’s back in his life he’s determined to protect her at all cost. With the help of Ephrem she finds her talisman belonging to the future pack leader of the MarkTier pack. However Lily isn’t the only one with issues Rafaela is now married to Gil and since she hasn’t created an heir he’s decided he needs another wife. Will she be able to change her future of end up being pushed aside?
I like both Lily and Rafaela they each have a unique intertwining story a path that will lead them each for greatness. Both girls also have true champions Lily has Ephrem and Ella with Alec together they have a long road ahead but I can only imagine where it’s going to end. I think the guys are perfect for our royal princess’s they complement them each very well.
I was super excited about Alexia Purdy having a new shifter series because it’s one of my favorite themes and I love her books.

I enjoyed the short book, however, it would benefit from some more character and plot development. There was a bit of an unexplained jump that didn't make sense, not enough to make it unreadable, but enough to disrupt the flow. I didn't necessarily like the jumping between different character POV's, but that's just a personal preference. In all, it was worth reading, and I am curious about what will happen next.

When Princess Lilliana is banished from her pack, ArcKnight, she runs into Prince Ephrem who has been sort of banished from his own pack, MarkTier. The two of them grow close and learn why the other has been banished. Lilliana was banished for losing her Ardent talisman. Though it was stolen by her best friend, she refuses to give up her friends name to save herself. Even though banished from his own pack, Ephrem is still aloud to enter his city. The two of them set off to MarkTier territory in search of Lilliana's ex-best friend. But will the two be able to find the missing talisman? After all, it appears there's a prophecy in place. Will the two of them make it out alive, ArcKnight and MarkTier wolves are not on good terms and neither are aloud in each others city. Great read, can't wait to find out what happens next!

this is a great start of a new series by Alexia. to me anything she writes is a must read One of the leads Lilliana has been banished out of her ArcKnight pack because her friend stole her Ardent talisman. Lilliana is taken in soon after by Ephrem the second Prince of the rival pack. It is also about her older sister Rafaela who is about to be married to Gil (an unfaithful groom) and is to be Queen of the ArcKnight pack. This is a unique story about 2 sisters. it has action and romance along with twists that make you want more. what a great book. I hope to read more of Lilliana and Ephrem.

Really enjoyed this read it is a fresh take on shifters and their hierarchy. Lily never really trusted anyone except for Elise, and Elise shows her why she does not trust in a horrible way. Lily thought she had a true friend a best friend in Elise. That was not the case and what happens when your one friend becomes your enemy. This short fast pace read is full of Twist and Turns and will keep you engrossed until the end and craving the next. I Love the Characters Created and the World Building. I envisioned the Outlands while reading which made for an eery and exciting read.

Ardent (The ArcKnight Chronicles #1) by Alexia Purdy a Fantasy/Shifter book. This is a story of a family, focusing on a young woman. Lilliana, and her plight as she is tossed out of her pack for a mistake that isn't even hers. As she makes her way through a community that is not her own, finding herself on the wrong side of town on the first night, she meets the person who will be by her side to assist her through this new time in her life, Ephrem. While she has to struggle with a new life her sister, Rafaela, has to struggle moving on without her, this being a secondary plot.

I think the writer does an excellent job telling a fun and interesting story. The characters are well developed. There are pleasant little surprises throughout the book. I like how the author shows Lilliana that her life was not as perfect as she thought and then began to show her how to live. I love how this story built the relationship between Ephrem and Lilliana it was truly well done. I think the only thing I was a bit disappointed about was the ending. I felt this main character, Lilliana, just out of the blue became a flop. It bugs me. However, I guess I shall see what happens in the next book!

All in all you have got to read this book. Great plot, fun read. Well worth your time! Plus, I have a feeling that the next book will be great too!
