I think the writer does an excellent job telling a fun and interesting story. The characters are well developed. There are pleasant little surprises throughout the book. I like how the author shows Lilliana that her life was not as perfect as she thought and then began to show her how to live. I love how this story built the relationship between Ephrem and Lilliana it was truly well done. I think the only thing I was a bit disappointed about was the ending. I felt this main character, Lilliana, just out of the blue became a flop. It bugs me. However, I guess I shall see what happens in the next book!
All in all you have got to read this book. Great plot, fun read. Well worth your time! Plus, I have a feeling that the next book will be great too!
Lilly is forced from her home and family for mistakes that are not even hers to shoulder, but what can one do when there are rival packs, love, betrayal and secrets all on the line. Survive to fight another day. She finds her a part of her she always knew was missing and she finds that in Epherm. I want more and that is a fact.
I am amazed by how much this book sucked me in. I was hooked from page one.
While there's so much going on I never felt overwhelmed or that the story suffered because of it. In fact every detail contributed to the mysteries in the story. Alexia Purdy tells a fantastical story of shifters, witchcraft, war and curses. Good doesn't always prevail and life is messy and full of challenges. Royalty doesn't receive everything on a silver platter and enemies are everywhere, even in your own family.
I can't recommend this series enough. I grabbed book one as a freebie and ended up buying book 2. Alexia Purdy will definitely be an author to stalk.
They stumble across a third cell of supernatural shifters. These new shifters want nothing more than to disrupt the two royal strongholds, the ArcKnights and the MarkTiers. They want to reignite a long--forgotten feud from decades past.
There is not one word in these books that isn't perfect. I loved reading every one of them!
Alexia has such a way of creating these magical, and fantastical worlds that you just want to be a part of forever!
In book one, we learn more about the world of shifters. We are introduced to two rival packs, and meet Lilliana- she has lost her tallisman and she is kicked out of her pack for it. Ephrem appears as she has made the conscious choice to not let this be the end for her. Between the two of them, emotions are high and the stakes are even higher if they are found out.
I LOVED IT!
I did like the hybrid shifter idea. But for me, there just wasn't enough here besides that to make it a good read. I finished this book highly frustrated. If I didn't already have the second book, I wouldn't be continuing.
