It is a 3rd party software that require additional purchase, and it is the only one that we found is reliable.

So my previous external Blu-ray drive failed and I went looking for a new one. Came across this one, and based on the good reviews decided to give it a try. I already had another UHD friendly drive in my Unraid Tower, but figured why not future proof this one and spend a tad bit more money to get it. It works! If you know what to do. I can't give this a full 5 star review, because of what you have to do to get it to read UHD 4K discs. It doesn't ship with the firmware version you need, so you'll need a PC to revert it back. To do so you'll need to go to the MakeMKV forums and get the right package to do it. To help yourself, look up on YT a video called "How to Flash 4K UHD Blu-ray Drive for Ripping Movies & TV Shows with MakeMKV" by TROYPOINT. He uses the exact same drive, shows you where to get it and walks you through it. I first didn't do this and spent an entire morning researching it. I got the pack I needed, but didn't select the right firmware to flash it. If you're new to this, he has some other videos that will be useful for you guys to watch. Once I flashed it to the right firmware, my UHD discs worked correctly. The drive seems pretty speedy and works great to read DVD, regular Blu-ray's and UHD Blu-ray's. The thing is loud though! I attached a 2 part video for you guys to hear. The other reviews were right, it does sound like a spaceship taking off! No idea how this means in terms of build quality, so I'll update my review if I have any problems with it. Other then that, it's been working great and I'm happy with my purchase.
