They do break eventually, but they are dish-washer-safe, they never rot and stick to things, the colors are vivid, and I always have a few on my keychain and in my backpack at any time.
This year, I used two of them along with a handkerchief (which I also always have on me) to create a quick and effective face mask when actual masks were still hard to find.
I use these to wrap cords and cables, organize keys, hold food wrappers shut, bundle tools, and I’ve even chained them together to hold the crockpot lid secure.
They handle high heat, so I’ve used them to hold roasts together for cooking! Which is, I suppose, what they are intended for!
