I think you'd be better off buying Design Drawing by Francis Ching. It covers pretty much the same concepts (except for the drafting tools) and more. I have most of his books and they are great. I just don't see where this one fits in.
This book/author has left out technical names for numerous various processes and products utilized in construction. Otherwise, it's an O.K. book for a basic introduction but fails to go more in-depth as needed.

Its an excellent insight and offers the user a skillset and knowledge base which could otherwise be missed. Although aimed at a novice, it leads you in with confidence and sets you high on the next level.
The illustrations are superb and if you are a visual learner (like me) then you will find his examples invaluable! There is also the added bonus of online material such as animations - The book is full to the brim with out these additions, so think of it as a very thoughtful and with the 'times' perk!
