As one reviewer mentioned, they are tight to get on- which I actually appreciate- as there are quite a bit of ticks in my area, so I like that these boots have that extra snug layer of material that fit around the ankle like a fitted sock.
These boots are substantial, so there’s a bit of weight to them, but you get used to that. There are a number of colors to choose, which is nice. I got the purple.
The fit is right on the money for me- I wear a size 9. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is that they are brand new- had them only 5 days and worn them once, so I need to see how they hold up. I also only give 4 stars now, because my heel was rubbing a little and I either, 1- have to wear a thicker hiking sock; 2 - need to adjust the fit with my laces (they remind me of tying and lacing a pair of skates); 3- they need to be broken in and worn a few times; 4- a combination of all the above (which I suspect is what needs to occur).
I do recommend these boots- I feel like they will also stay dry in wet weather! A good investment-
These boots keep my ankle nice and stiff, so it helps me to go longer with less pain. The tread is also awesome on the loose rocks outside. It doesn't hurt to walk on them anymore!
The only disadvantage I've noticed so far is that they're pretty treacherous on slick vinyl flooring. Almost no traction at all, there, so I might have to place a rubber glue / grit mixture on the tread.
Otherwise, excellent hiking boots. Very sturdy and comfortable. I'm a size 9 normally, and so I took everyone's advice and ordered one size up. The size 10 fits perfectly.
