When I first started installing the heatsink, 2 of the standoffs fell completely off the mounting bracket. I hadn't even begun to tighten them yet... simply screwing them in at all pulled the standoffs off the mounting bracket and I was unable to get them to hold their place without JB Weld. Tightened down 3 of the 4 screws and then the 4th went about 2/3rds of the way down. Whoever designed this product needs to be fired. There's absolutely no reason why a heatsink this large and heavy should be held on by 4 tiny screws.

After days of messing with it, I finally got it together (though i could never get the 4th screw all the way down) and low and behold... 1 of the 3 fans doesn't even work! Wonderful! But it didn't matter anyway because the seating was horrible. I would rank this product a 0 if I could.

Oh, and forget about customer service. I tried to contact AC almost 3 weeks ago when I ordered this and they still haven't responded to me. Thanks Arctic Cooling. Never again using one of your products.

I hardly hear it at all in the system, and the noise profile is much less distracting than the whirl of my hard drives. Comparing this to "leaf blower" stock cooler, and this is a huge improvement in noise, and it runs much cooler as well. I will definitely be buying a similar product when I upgrade my video card.

Just note that it's for reference design cards. A Sapphire card will fit perfectly, but something like an XFX card that redesigned the layout will not.

If you do have an XFX or other non-reference design, you should look into also getting some small chipset fans to put over the ram.

Researched this before buying so I was expecting better cooling that I actually got. This works good for the ram and gpu but the VRM is barely cooled and hits 80C constantly. Bought some paste on copper heatsinks and placed on back of card on the ram, gpu and VRM (with heattape). This dropped cooling to around 30C idle for GPU, 70C when maxxed out and dropped VRM to 75C when maxxed out. I have a HAF X case so this is not an airflow issue. I don't believe the reviewers really pushed the card to max. Overall this is only about 10C better than the stock cooler, much less than stated in other reviews. Fan Noise however is much lower.

I run a 3 monitor setup, using the XFX version of the HD5870. My Temps went from 58C while idle, and 70C on load, down to 32C and 40C respectively. Only complaint is that the voltage regulator and vram coolers didn't fit. The voltage regulator was far to big and I ended up using the old one with the new thermal pad (trimmed to fit). The vram coolers were both about 1 inch longer then they needed to be. I had to cut one down to size (which was difficult because the only tools I had were a screwdriver and a hammer), and the other one just goes an inch beyond where it actually needed to. It feels a bit unstable, this cooler is at least twice as heavy as the stock one, and is held on by about half as many screws.
