Overall, these are serviceable Bluetooth speakers on par with most small form speakers in its price range, but do not expect it to compete with the Beats Pill or Jawbone Jambox. The drastic price difference between is fully indicative of the quality difference, but these are a solid option if you're looking to save some money.
Now I wouldn't recommend these bluetooth speakers for pumping out Heavy Metal like Pantera, but then again, they aren't built to be used to replace a D.J. set-up at a party. And yes, I listen to Pantera too! I've had no issues with connecting and keeping my connection as long as I'm not wandering more then 20-25 ft. away from the speakers. If I happen to move out of range, they will automatically reconnect when I move back towards the speakers. Most of the time when we are outside playing, I just leave my phone laying by the speakers.
I found this system very user-friendly, has great sound for most any genre of music, and has a great zip-up carry case to pack away the speakers and wiring! My son loves them too and I have to keep them out of his reach or I will find them in his room! I'm looking forward to next spring when we can lay out to enjoy the sunshine and share our music with each other. My 5 yr. old LOVES music, so we are going to use these till they die!
My only issue with the ARTIC S111 BT sound system is that it doesn't include the plug-in wall charging unit.
Get's a big thumbs up from me and my son, David!
This is the first ARTIC product I've purchased, other than computer cooling components, and I'm very impressed and happy with my decision to go with this purchase!
I have used other bluetooth speakers in the past but they were always one speaker units trying to be a stereo sounding set of speakers. Never quite works that way!!!
Don't waste your time with them.

One of the reasons for deciding on the S111 was the fact that they come with a hard carry case which is actually really good quality it has a little compartment to store the audio jack cable and the USB charging cable as well which I really like. Connecting the speakers to my iPhone was really easy and only took a second and I was playing music it could not be easier.
I am really pleased with the sound quality and for the price I think you can’t go wrong the quality of the audio play back from a range of music was better then what I expected. The bass is pretty good for such small speakers and is obviously not as good as a dedicated subwoofer but still does the job. One little feature that I like is that when you reach the loudest settings on the volume control there is a beep which is a good idea. You can also see how much juice you have left in the battery.
Arctic has put a lot of thought and time into making these speakers, the design and oval look, is of a high quality I like the fact that the speakers have an open design and vibrate and pulse when the music is turned up this open design goes well with the black and silver style to the speakers.
I am yet to fully test the battery life but if it’s near 12 hours then I will be happy. I might even buy a second set to keep in the kitchen. Arctic has fitted the S111 with a high-end Bluetooth 4.0 chipset which allows for lossless audio streaming of MP3 and AAC. In the words of Arctic “The wow effect is guaranteed” and it totally is.
Underneath, there was a case, similar to the material that hard glasses cases are made out of, containing the two black speakers. The box is very handy as it is only big enough to fit the speakers, so is not unnecessarily large and is easily storable. Among silica gel, the cables consist of a microUSB cable and 3.5mm audio jacks (one end to plug into your device and the other into the speakers), which all fit into the provided area in the carry box.
Setup was easy as pi. On the back of the right hand speaker, there are inserts for the microUSB and audio cables to plug into.
Upon plugging them in and pressing the power button on the back, the speakers make an `I'm awake' noise and the power LED flashes purple for about a second. You can use the speakers either by connecting via 3.5mm, or by Bluetooth. The audio quality across a range of music was above the level that I was expecting, considering the size of the speakers. The stereo is enhanced by placing them further apart from each other. Although the wire connecting them is only about 50cm fully extended, it is plenty to get the stereo effect. The bass was very good, obviously not as good as a dedicated subwoofer but remarkable considering the size. The volume can go high, and is easily adjustable by the controls on the rear of the right speaker.
The sound wasn't tinny at all and performed the same connected by 3.5mm by battery and via USB.
The speakers can be used completely wirelessly, via battery and Bluetooth simultaneously:
When used via Bluetooth, since the test before produced no differences in results whether it was plugged in or not, I decided to unplug it and use the completely wireless aspect of the speakers. Bluetooth pairing is really simple. Follow the easy instructions in the manual and you're connected forever. At all distances away from the speakers, the sound was as good as the wired connection. I guess the quality depends on the Bluetooth of your phone/iPod as well. I was using the Moto G and it's perfect. The range is roughly 7m and it did 6m through a solid brick wall. The quality doesn't decrease at any distance, but the connection is simply lost and it breaks up the sound.
The speakers do not vibrate on the outside. The vibrations are contained within the units. They are also reinforced to any grippy surface via their rubber feet and have no hope of toppling over, not that it would make a difference.
The only thing I could have asked for more about these speakers is the cable length connecting the two speakers to be longer. This would make it ideal for speakers to sit either side of a large laptop or 21" computer monitor. The speakers are omnidirectional, and are heard well from all sides of the speaker, ensuring optimum hearing for anyone listening, wherever you are sitting/standing. The units can also be kept right next to each other in the case they came in to protect from any hard surface underneath.
Battery-wise, it keeps to its word. I used it on and off for a day without it going into the 25% LED zone. Speaking of the LED, it has 3 different phases. Blue = >50%, red and blue = 25-49% and flashing blue and red = <25%. It came at <25% battery and fully charged in about 2-3 hours via the USB power from my desktop computer.
Considering the price being £25, it's a very competitive product and could be a good investment if you are an avid music listener, especially on the go where the 12 battery will really excel. Similarly priced Bluetooth speakers have half the battery life and come in more expensive.
The sound quality is great, its multi use so you can listen to music, movies and Youtube vids on them and the quality doesn't falter either, over cable or Bluetooth. To be honest the only nit-pick I had about this was that the case was a little snug for the speakers but all that can be solved with just moving things around.

Usability - 5/5
The S111 BT (Black) is the most surprising item I have bought recently. It is a very well built and great looking bit of kit.
Straight out of the box the quality of the item is apparent. The speakers themselves are stored in a hard, zip-up, carry case with a small internal pouch to hold the cables when not in use.
The speakers themselves are good looking and are very sturdy with the added bonus that they charge using a standard phone charger.
Simply press the on button located at the back of the right speaker, enable bluetooth on your device and search for devices. 'S111' will appear, click it and you're ready to go. Alternatively, use the audio jack that is provided to plug directly in to your device.
To change the volume use either the volume on your device or the volume buttons located on the back of the right speaker.
I tested these speakers using a range of songs from classical (Le Onde – Ludvico Einaudi) to dubstep (City2city – Zomboy) and even heavier songs (Chelsea Smile – BMTH) and found no problems with the sound quality. All songs were very clear with perfect bass.
I would recommend these speakers to anyone currently looking for portable speakers. They would be perfect for BBQs or just listening to music without having to bother with cables.
The two forms of connection to audio devices are the 3.5mm jack cable and Bluetooth 4.0. Obviously, the Bluetooth is going to eat the battery quicker on your phone, but it is unlikely to run the sound system itself down as it is always on when the device is on. The sound quality of the sound system is surprisingly good. Actually, it is very good, it is just surprising as the product is so damn cheap. It plays at the same quality level, if not higher than other, more expensive choices in the market. It goes to a good volume level too, losing very little quality as you turn it up. The only problem with the volume is that it is controlled by two buttons at the back (no wireless remote) and they are fairly loud when pushed and feel cheap.
At the back of one unit is the volume control, both inputs (power and 3.5mm jack) and an LED to show if it is charging, and when turned on, the level of charge between 3 zones - <24%, 25-49% and 50% +, each with a different colour code. The units themselves are fairly light, weighing in at under 500g combined so are ideal for taking away. The design is good - I went for the black option as I thought it looks better, and it does look very nice and fairly discrete if you want to integrate into a desk setup.
The advertised battery life is 12 hours, but it does take a while to charge up to that point.
The only real problem I have with it is that it feels cheap, though that really isn't of big concern seeing as the quality is so good.
And my favourite part about these? It is a carbon neutral product, very nice!
