Do you really need to read this? AS-5 is, and has been, the best hands down silver base thermal paste I have ever worked with. Sure there are other brands out there. I have been, and always will be, faithful to AS-5.

If I buy something electrical with heatsinks I pretty much always replace it with this stuff as everything usually comes with the crappy white thermal grease on it. Every little bit helps and Arctic silver is one of the best.

I have tried all sorts of other products on the market. Some barely work, but comparing this product to the next best thing (my opinion and tests) the result is that using this product greatly increases the efficiency of the heat transfer and for the types of server product my small business creates, it reduces the CPU temperature by 2 to 8 Degrees Centigrade compared to the next best thing and does not deteriorate with time.

You only use this stuff once. Yes it is expensive, in fact probably the most expensive on the market, but compared to a $450 CPU it is peanuts so if you want great performance and long life from your CPU, use the best. I never use anything else.

This is the reference standard for heatsink compound... That's why there are so many reviews. If you are ordering parts to build a new PC (or rebuilding an old PC), you need this stuff when you install the CPU heatsink. Some heatsinks will come with some similar heatsink compound... clean it off and use this instead.
For best results, be sure to follow the directions on the Arctic Silver website (just google for Arctic Silver Installation Instructions).

Seriously, if you work on PCs, you need this stuff.

Just got a chance to use some of this brand and am very pleased with it. I especially liked the size. Enough so you won't run out in a hurry. It was easy to apply and smoothed out really well. I also noted that the compound seemed to spread more uniformly when pressure was applied to the heat sink and therefore better covered the CPU. I must admit I overdid it a bit on my first application but was able to learn from this mistake and found that it really doesn't take as much of this stuff as the old compound I was using. A really good heat sink compound!

I will not buy any other product but arctic silver. I use my home PC as a crypto mining rig so components run hot. This stuff helps keep it cooler. It only decreases the temps about 5C to 7C under semi high to medium load, but do realize that as you increase the load on your components to their maximum potential, the arctic silver capability reduces, at least in my experience. The reduction I mentioned earlier dropped to about 3C when I maximized the load on my components.
I refuse to waste my money on other products, Arctic Silver all the way.

I go through a lot of this. Arctic silver works well, is very easy to apply, and works a lot better than the cheaper thermal paste out there. Depending on what kind of processor you use it on, the large 12g tube lasts quite awhile. If you're only doing a few computers, it'd probably best to get the smaller size, although as far as I can tell, it never goes bad, I have some tubes I've had for 5+ years, and it seems a little thicker (maybe it was a different formula?) but works great just the same.

Highly recommended.
