Arctic Silver Thermal Cooling Compound Paste 3.5g High-Density Polysynthetic Silver
Arctic Silver 5 does not contain any silicone. The suspension fluid is a proprietary mixture of advanced polysynthetic oils that work together to provide three distinctive functional phases. As it comes from the syringe, Arctic Silver 5's consistency is engineered for easy application. During the CPU's initial use, the compound thins out to enhance the filling of the microscopic valleys and ensure the best physical contact between the heatsink and the CPU core. Then the compound thickens slightly over the next 50 to 200 hours of use to its final consistency designed for long-term stability. (This should not be confused with conventional phase change pads that are pre-attached to many heatsinks. Those pads melt each time they get hot then re-solidify when they cool.
The viscosity changes that Arctic Silver 5 goes through are much more subtle and ultimately much more effective.)

After testing and consulting with an employee at Arctic Silver Inc. This product is not the real deal. Not only did it fail to do it's job, I lost my Xbox one s due to this product not being authentic. Would not buy from Retail storee.

As someone who doesn't tinker or build regularly, I appreciate the small sized tube, because it will no doubt dry out before I need it again. I have had one application last me about five years! Although I don't recommend waiting that long, you can definitely get 2-3 years if tinkering isn't your thing. Just keep an eye on your CPU temperatures. If nothing else has changed and they start creeping up, a fresh coat is advised.
When I first bought AS5, they weren't shipping this excellent spreader tool that came with this purchase. Now that they do include that, I don't really see a reason to look at other thermal compound options. The price point fits my budget and the seller got it to me super, duper fast. If only all purchasing experiences went like this....
You will do no wrong if you use this product.
I ordered lint free cloths and this thermal paste. I used 91% isopropyl alcohol on the lint free cloths to remove the old thermal paste from the processor and heat sink. I repeated this process using a clean area of the cloth until all the thermal compound was removed, and then I did it twice more in a buffing motion to get the area as clean as possible.
I then applied slightly less than a pea sized dot of Arctic Silver 5 to my desktop CPU (I did not use the spreader), and reinstalled the CPU cooler by evenly placing the cooler back on the CPU with a subtle rolling motion to push any air bubbles out. I then incrementally screwing down the CPU cooler in an "X" pattern.
My load temperatures dropped by approximately 30 degrees Celsius. My old thermal paste was not applied well. It was totally dried out and there were clear signs of air bubbles in the paste.
Overall, great paste!
Overall, will definitely do the trick for an aging machine that needs new paste, and at a brand you can trust that I know of.

Paste is really difficult to apply as its not smooth, but contain smudgy blobs.
It is also really sticky. All that causes big waste of paste during application.
You need to put 0.25g of paste, the same will stay on the tool.
Regarding the price - I don't think I will buy it again.
Used this paste thinking if i shave 2-5c off I'm happier, didnt think I would notice.
CPU has now been running at a average of 66c during use with games set back to near max settings, no lags very impressed.
