I'm an old guy, with old tastes in music, that said, I really do enjoy the music that they make! It's very incongruous, and therefore very different from what I would normally listen to.

Comrades is one of those bands whose albums I pre-order every time. Always delivers

Awesome music at great quality

This band delivers! There is tons of contrast between heavy and light and its perfectly dynamic. What first caught my attention was the clean female vocal which are uncommon for this genre. My wife says she wishes there was more dynamic range to these vocals (present more on older Comrades music), however, I like it. I think it adds to an earthy almost indie feel that the band is going for. As I began to listen to more this just scratches the surface of things to like about this band. The screaming vocals are perfect, not overdone, and perfectly placed. They are fairly audible and definitely progress the song. The drumming is complex, there is definitely some attention to detail here. The guitar riffs are perfectly inserted and ambient overall. The bass line is sick, constantly paired with the drums and guitar. These parts individually are great, and together they make an amazing whole.
My favorite songs are: Fault Lines, Cliff Dwelling, Nightingale, & Hollow Point (plus having Garrett Russel (of Silent Planet) is a welcome addition).

Post punk que pacifica
Reviewed in Brazil 🇧🇷 on October 4, 2021
