4.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE!!! of poor-quality Amazon-manufactured "On-Demand" CD's
By Tom M. on August 17, 2019
Not a review of the actual album but this needs to be communicated. Amazon is currently selling a version of this album that they have manufactured themselves -- very poorly. It's a practice called "On-Demand Manufacturing". If you're even a casual collector of music, you should not accept this practice. Send it back immediately and demand a refund. And consider buying this album from another retailer since the Amazon customer service rep confirmed to me that there is no guarantee that I won't recieve another copy like this.

There are a few easy ways of telling if you have Amazon's cheap knock-off. The immediate giveaway is the Slipknot logo is missing from the cover. The booklet and inserts have been laser-jet printed on cheap paper (you can plainly see the raised borders of the ink around the graphics). Another easy thing to spot is the "Manufactured by Amazon" tag above the barcode on the back of the case -- impossible to read without a magnifying glass, too (of course). And the last thing I noticed was the label credits has been cutoff at the bottom -- it should have 2 lines of credits but the bottom line has been cut off. A quick look at the actual disc and you'll notice that it's actually a CD-R. Not what I paid for...at all. And this practice has apparently been OK'd by the label, too

Frankly, I'm appalled that this practice is being allowed. Paying full-price for an "official bootleg" without letting customers know that they're receiving an officially-sanctioned inferior product sounds like a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen.

***Update*** The replacement that was sent was indeed an official release, so I will be changing my review rating. Also, it has been pointed out to me that there actually is a notice on the product page indicating that this is manufactured by Amazon. It's not very obvious unless you're looking for it specifically (which I definitely will be in the future) but it is definitely there -- something a little more noticeable should probably be employed to make sure people see this, like maybe a warning when finalizing the purchase. Just a thought. Kudos to Amazon for correcting the issue so quickly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not trustworthy!!
By Kayla on August 27, 2019
When originally purchasing this CD, upon opening it, the case was cracked. So, I requested a replacement. This one (on right) arrives. It's an Amazon manufactured CD. Not official AT ALL. I don't understand how they can get away with that, but they did it. Completely disappointed. I only hope no one else has gotten a fake CD. The album booklet is completely jumbled up. There isn't a 'Slipknot' logo on the front. There are multiple useless barcodes. Everything printed is off and cheap. Not to mention the CD is on a CDR disc. Just wrong. 😡

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
By edward h on August 10, 2019
Got the new highly anticipated Slipknot album yesterday and I listened to it carefully last night. This album is more proof that Corey Taylor is hard rock’s greatest working singer. This guy can roar and his voice doesn’t sound like it’s getting tired. The album is recorded very well, while loud it doesn’t induce a headache. At a little over 63 minutes it is a very entertaining album and the band is great as always. Can’t help but feeling the singing is the star of the show. For me the stand out tracks are the amazing ‘Nero Forte’, the different but awesome ‘Spiders’ and the killer ‘Orphan’. Great Slipknot album. As you can see in photo mine came damaged. A little irritating to receive a brand new $13.99 cd in damaged condition but we don’t live in a perfect world.
