Glen Beck has a way with words, no denying it. He also has a way of taking the convoluted and making it straight. By retracing the steps from which we came, to where we are, Beck shines a bright light on the insidious lies that infiltrate the concept of socialism.
He begins by coming up with a definition: “any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and administration of goods” (pg. 4) and then proceeds to go back to the first experiment of collective socialism in this country to be, the Pilgrims from 1620. There’s and exhaustive dive into Karl Marx, the fine line between socialism and communism, all the little tweaks on “social democrat” and of course, Bernie and AOC.
Beck provides lots of statistical information. He’s not just ranting and supposing. When he lays out the reality of what’s happening in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland and compares it to India - yes, India, well, that was just a draw dropper. Those Scandinavia countries are the barometer by which we’re to fashion ourselves; not so much.
There’s a lot of entertainment value in this book: big colorful blocks for key points, red letter emphasis points and best of all, Glen has 3 sidekicks that are his straight people thru the book, feeding him lines along the way. They’re animated mash ups, I’m not telling who they are, get a book and read it.
By far, the most useful and informative book on issues plaguing our government in a long time. Highly recommended 📚

I have read a mountain of socialist and anti-socialist literature over the past few years, so when I say that this is one of the most unique, interesting, hilarious books about the topic I've ever read, I mean it. Beck is at his finest in Arguing with Socialists, and the artwork in this book is, on its own, worth the purchase.

Socialism has been the enemy of the US since its founding, and that has never been more true than it is today. say what every you like but the FACTS in the books are ALL documented and sourced. so go argue with reality, all you will find in this book is the TRUTH, and a little humor.

Capitalism has failed us. We are living through that failure now as we deal with a health care system focused on profit not health care. (Check out the difference in COVID mortality rate between the US and Germany.) You want further proof? Look at the grotesque wealth inequality that capitalism has wrought in this country.
After misdefining a bunch of terms to serve his purpose, Beck launches into his usual rant. The book is also full of derogatory comics and rude caricatures of his perceived enemy. As always, he misses the point that these are people who are fighting for the rights of every American.
He distorts the reality of the robber barons, calling them myths. The book is just endless blah blah blah and will appeal only to those who already misguidedly follow him.
BOTTOM LINE: Well written. Totally obnoxious. Grossly inaccurate.

Glenn has done it again! Packed with pages of footnotes it's hard to argue with the book. There will be people who don't like it because it challenges they're paradigm.
My only complaint really is the footnote format. I love that they're in there but it seems like there has to be an easier way to search them.

Best Glenn yet. Getting this book from my wife for Easter (in a day or two), took it to work to read, when i could. Hazard of being an "essential worker", i can't enjoy the quarantine time but i can enjoy this book. Been trying for years to explain to my parents what socialism really is, this book lays it all out in terms that i can break the subject down for them. Very well researched and laid out in one handy book. Worth every penny. Would have paid double.

It's a beautiful book, well thought through and marvelously executed. It's filled with facts and deep thoughts as well as with jokes and comics.

Fantastic book about all the lies from socialism and communism, including greenwashism:-).
What is missing, however, is that socialism needs poverty per se, just to justify its existence and Glenn should have elaborated on that.
