I'm from AZ, lived there for 56 years and am now residing in the South. I heard this song in a movie called 'Phoenix Forgotten" and it reminded of my freewheeling wannabe hippie days as a teenager in the greater Phoenix area so I had to buy it. Mark Lindsay was a favorite along with Paul Revere and the Raiders and I had to smile thinking about the huge crush my youngest Aunt had on him. It's a great, nostalgic song about a hippie chick he meets on the road...well I suppose you'd call it a love song and although it's not really about the City of Phoenix it brought to mind Saguaro Cactus, beautiful sunsets and driving for miles around at night in a desert city and small towns where in the 60's and 70's you might not see another car for hours. That's the place I remember and really miss. Great song and a once great area to live in before it got way too crowded, oh, and a great era for growing up in.
