The newer version that I have which includes a 180° field of view, 1080 high definition picture, motion activated spotlight, and wireless rechargeable cameras is probably the best on the market. Especially the ease with which they are installed. I bought a cheap brand that had nice looking cameras with LED lights and wireless antenna to connect to a indoor base unit and monitor screen, but could not even figure out how do use it. The hardest part is getting up to the eve of your roof to install them. With two people, one can adjust the camera while the other looks at the 5 second delayed image to adjust it where you want. The audio is very sensitive and very clear. After the necessary set up and loading the app, it worked perfectly and is really quite impressive. Another owner tells me the motion sensor is too sensitive and picks up even small bugs but I have not used it. I just want to be able to see if I hear a noise at night or if I experience vandalism. I do worry that someone could just walk up and smash them with a baseball bat and there is no more secure location I can mount them. Also, climbing a ladder to take them down, recharge them, and put them back up is not fun, but the quality and ease of use overcomes that for me. Looks like the price at $600 for four cameras has not changed in the last year so they must still be very popular.

I was a bit hesitant about these cameras since I've always had a wired system, but they have exceeded all expectations. They are super easy to install and setup.

The field of view compared to my older wired cameras is amazing, and crystal clear. I have a google mesh WiFi network, and haven't had any issues with 5 cameras getting signal through a 5,000 sq ft house.

I have purchased the 25ft outdoor power cables and will be installing power outlets in my attic to run constant power to each camera. While I've been impressed with the battery thus far, I have several cameras that are placed high enough where it would be a hassle to get a ladder and charge the batteries.

The motion detection works well and actually differentiates between people animals and cars. I have had some issues with the cameras still picking up things outside of the activity zones, but overall they work well. The subscription service at 9.99 a month for multiple cameras is a little pricey, but I think it's an important component.

The app is pretty feature rich, I do wish you had the ability to see multiple cameras on one screen as I could with my previous system. The microphone picks up sound very good, but I haven't had much luck with two way communication.

The spotlight is very nice to have, and lights up dark areas well, although might drain the battery quite a bit in an area with frequent movement.

Overall, I would highly recommend Arlo cameras. I do hope they hold up over time at this price point.

As a woman, I was looking for a camera system that was easy to install myself. These cameras are wireless with batteries to charge. The first six cameras with base, I purchased from Best Buy for my business. I really liked how easy it was to install and to create an account with a downloadable app on my iphone. This second set which contains three cameras and one base was ordered for my residence. Here’s a tip for future buyers. These cameras although I rated five stars, the battery drains quick depending on how much action, motion you get. My six cameras batteries died after a week and a half so I was constantly charging them on a closed day which takes about a few hours. I would say four hours. I purchased the dual battery chargers so they can charge together. After that, it got a bit inconvenient for me to pull each camera down, remove the batteries and charge all at once for hours so I ordered every single camera to have 25 ft long charging cables. I highly recommend purchasing the charging cables for each camera so you don’t need to pull the battery out of each camera every time the batteries run low. You get a 30 day free trial recording then after that it’s anywhere from $10 per camera or $15 per camera for a 30 day recording. Bottom line, Arlo is overall a reliable surveillance system if you are willing to purchase everything that goes with it to provide you hands-free 24 hr recordings.

The 2K video is great - a little contrasty overall but no issues really. Smart motion detection is not a smart as it could be. I filter out vehicles but they still register. I filter out other motion but it still registers. Night vision is not really an improvement over the 1080p camera though it does have higher resolution. the low contrast makes things hard to see. So much improved clarity and resolution, smart motion needs some tweaks and about the same for night vision as before, although in colour.

Cameras are good, video quality in 2K is awesome But cloud storage and arlo support is not available in India, so you miss some important features like human detection and car detection. Provided with only one cable to charge the cameras so you need to operate at-least one camera on battery. Battery is good but can’t use activity zone while the camera is not attached with power cord.
