I've tried every variety of cat litter on the market. The cheap stuff. The clay stuff. The flushable stuff. The blue crystals. The corn cob pellets. The natural organic chemical free stuff. The stuff branded "World's Best Cat Litter" which my cat assumed was a cruel joke and promptly peed on the rug in protest (#OccupyBathmat). We've held control laboratory test groups pitching scented against unscented. We've even blended two varieties together in a Frankenstein experiment to uncover the secret to a funk-free bathroom where our litter box is housed. All to no avail.

Until now. This, my four-legged feline lovers, is it. The holy grail of cat litter. It clumps solidly like a rock. It sifts through the scooper like fine beach sand. It doesn't kick up any clay dust clouds. It has a light, pleasant, but not overwhelming scent. And it retains freshness for a week (sometimes longer), as advertised on the package. There's two varieties, one for single, freewheeling kitties and one that I'll dub Cat Sanctuary-approved. I myself only keep one cat, but as I have a very small apartment with weak ventilation, I opted for the multi-cat formula for extra "stank assurance."

Clump & Seal performs beautifully. In fact, it works so well and clumps so tightly, that the litter box requires refilling a touch more often than it did with lesser, inferior litter brands. But I consider that a small price to pay in exchange for a bathroom (and house) that doesn't reek of urine and powdery chemicals. Very satisfied cat and cat owner.

... and clumps nice and solid.

What I REALLY love about this litter: it doesn't get sticky when it clumps, like some other clay litters. Thus, I don't end up chipping half-solidified clumps of gooey litter from the sides and bottom of the box. It makes for a much quicker litter scooping, and means that I can waste less litter--I don't have to dump the box weekly due to a buildup of stinky little bits that fell out of broken-up clumps.

This litter also does seem to be fairly low in dust, for a clay litter. The first time I used it, I stood up straight, dumped, and stepped back to watch the dust cloud. I could see one, but it didn't POOF up out of the box like a lot of clay litter dusts do.

Is it low-tracking? To be honest, I can't really say. This litter is teensy little sand grain-sized particles, and I have carpeted floors. If it's tracking, it's getting lost in the carpet. Kinda disturbing on the one hand, but kinda nice on the other... larger crystals just accumulate on top of the carpet and get stuck to the bottoms of my feet, thus ending up EVERYWHERE.

Why this litter doesn't get five stars: it has a very strong odor. If you like perfumed cat litter, you might be okay with that. I very much dislike scented litters, however, and when I first got a whiff of this, it was almost enough for me to return it without even trying it. My cat has a history of deciding he dislikes scented odors, too, so we'll see how long I can get away with using this before he decides going next to the box is preferable to going in it...

... but for now, I like the solid clumps, low dust, and apparent lack of tracking. My boys seem to like the texture, evidenced by my kitten's enthusiastic digging like a kid in a sand box. So far, so good!

Finally a multi-cat litter that works! I have 5 cats and I started with A&H's super scoop and that worked good but not great, but better than other brands I have tried. Then I tried their original multi-cat litter and it sucked and was worse than the super scoop so I went back to super scoop until double duty came out. I tried double duty and loved it! Then Ultra last came out and I tried it and loved it even more that double duty! But all of them were not what I was looking for until now! I know that with 5 cats I should scoop it everyday or at least every 3 days but I don't I do it every week. All the other litters after about 4 or 5 days began to smell and they tracked it all over the place. Now this litter they do kick out but only because they have not gotten use to the fact that it is lighter and softer and they don't need to cover it up as hard. Once they do they won't track it out as much and I love that! This litter also has almost no dust, which I love because I hate breathing in cat litter dust I can't imagine it all that healthy!

It is highly scented but that doesn't bother me but I can see how it would bother some people who get bothered by smells like that or are in a small area. This litter does last 7 days without smelling and with 5 cats I am impressed! I kept thinking they say it lasts and it hasn't so far but A&H nailed it on this one. I walked by the litter box on day 7 and though it did not smell as good as day 1 I didn't smell anything bad. I thought I did on day 6 but when I got up to it, it didn't smell bad so one of the cats must have just gone and that is what I smelled. I would recommend this litter if strong perfume scents do not bother you. I would be interested to see how it works with more than 5 cats.
