Terry Brooks suggested to read this series of books first if you had read The Sword of Shannara series. Armagddon’s Children is completely different and seems like it is going in a new direction from what is expected. But I am going to continue reading this series and see how the two series come together.
The Word and the Void series, (which I strongly encourage people to read before the Genesis trilogy) reveals something very intriguing and something that readers had suspected for a long time, that the world of Shannara is not set in an ancient world, but the future of our own world.
Armageddon's Children takes up where the Word and the Void series ends and starts the journey from a post apocalyptic Earth, to the world of Shannara.
