This Armor All Utility Vac is specifically designed to clean the interior of your car. It handles both wet and dry pickup, includes all accessories needed for complete interior cleaning and easily converts to a blower to dry motorcycles, car grills and wheels. It also has an automatic shut off to prevent overflow and a built in air and noise diffuser for efficient and quiet operation.
From the Manufacturer
ArmorAll's Utility Wet/Dry Vacs have the ability to clean up both solids and liquids, offering seemingly unlimited uses. The 2.5 gallon polypropylene tank is small enough to carry around, but large enough for most jobs. A 2 horsepower motor provides ample suction power, as well as an easy conversion to a blower function. Auto shut-off detects fill limit and prevents overflow. Top handle and onboard accessory storage make for easy carrying. Built-in air and noise diffuser minimizes volume. Other great features include a 10-foot cord with wrap, 6-foot, 1.25-inch hose, reusable cloth filter, reusable foam sleeve, 2-in-1 utility nozzle, crevice tool, deluxe car nozzle, blower nozzle, and detail brush. No assembly required.
Note: The hose is inside the canister portion (inside the units tank) of the vacuum.

OK enough jokes. This vacuum is pretty frigging good. It has quite a bit of suction power, even with the attachments. I use it to vacuum my cars and it does a GREAT job! For starters, the electrical cord is about 10 feet, which is nice. Though for most applications, you'll likely still need an extension cord.
The suction power is pretty impressive. And it's not much louder than your normal vacuum. It's not blaringly loud, but at the same time it's not whisper quiet.
The vacuum hose is adequately long at about 6 feet. Even better, the end of the hose rotates. This makes using it with attachments so much easier as you don't kink the hose as easily.
Speaking of attachments, it comes with everything most will need for simple cleaning. It should be said that there is no extension tube as many other vacuums have. That seems to be the only attachment missing.
The vacuum does well with a mix of wet and dry vacuuming. I was able to vacuum up sand on a carpet, followed by standing water, then back to a sandy carpet. It also did a thick wet mixture quite well.
The collection bucket holds quite a large amount while still being easy to handle. You can carry the unit around while vacuuming, but I'm sure most will set it down before vacuuming. If you're the type to place the unit on the ground before vacuuming, know that it does NOT slide well on the ground. You can give it tugs to drag it along, but know that it's going to give a bit of resistance throughout the process.
In short, this was a great buy! I heard a few guys praising it prior to my purchase, so when I initially purchased this, I had high hopes and was ready to discredit most of its workings. I can honestly say that after using this to clean 5 vehicles, and a few household messes, this vacuum holds its own exceptionally well. This is definitely a winner and a great buy, especially for the budget minded who wants to get the best bang for their buck.
If I have to mention something negative about the unit, it would be 2 things.
1. I don't like that there isn't enough room to dump all the attachments inside the trash collector of the unit when not in use. Instead, I have to affix them to the top of the unit where they stand tall and proud.
2. The "clamps" connecting the top of the unit and bottom trash collector can sometimes be a bit annoying to align and affix together. Not a big deal, and it's pretty obvious when it's not connected correctly, but every time I opened the unit, I felt myself really taking my time to ensure the two parts were correctly connected.
Again small gripes with the unit. This just shows how well it was designed.
As usual, if I run into any problems, I will update this review accordingly. But as of right now, things are going extremely well.
UPDATE: After 2 years, this thing STILL runs like a champ. I don't only use it for my car, but I've also used it to clean up inside my home as well, even after light construction projects. This was truly an item worth buying. It's been invaluable over the past 2 years.
After reading ALL of the reviews (one even claiming this machine could suck a golf ball through a garden hose), I bought it to clean up pet messes. As a family with 3 cats, 4 dogs, and as a foster home for other rescues, we have a LOT of pet *issues* to attend to. We have carpeted areas that have gotten peed on, and we use a powder mixture sprinkled on to soak up the mess. We wanted a strong, yet small, wet dry vacuum to pick up the wet powder out of the carpets, as our regular upright vacuum has gotten gross with the damp powder, getting clogged and needing to be washed on a daily basis.
This little car w/d vacuum really had barely any suction AT ALL. Husband was not amused. He read a bunch of the reviews and thought out loud that HE must have gotten the hose attached wrong.... or a piece was missing or SOMETHING...... but no. The machine itself just isn't up to snuff. With the small wand attachment we could pick up some of the wet powder, but no other attachment would pick up ANY powder at all! How people are getting sawdust and heating pellet residue and pet hair out of cars.... I have no idea.
We quickly returned and plan on finding another small wet dry vacuum to test out.
I primarily used this for vacuuming my car out on a weekly basis and for cleaning dog hair off my furniture quickly. I exceeded expectations for both of those, with some bonus shop usage in there from time to time. Little guy finally gave up th ghost when I was trying to vacuum up too much concrete dust at once and I think I may have overloaded it because it tripped my breaker and nothing I do (replacing the filter, cleaned it all out, etc etc) will get it to start up now. It was a good run for a good price. I’ll probably buy a bigger one next time, but this one was great for my tiny townhome when I had it.

The “ Armor All “ Dura Vac AA255 2.5-Gallon 2 HP Wet and Dry Vac is very light at 7 lbs. 7.3 oz with all the attachments and the hose inside it, and it has a flat bottom and will not tip over very easily. The hose is just plastic but long enough to reach any area inside any vehicle. The unit is the correct size and shape for both carrying or for placing it inside on the car floor to vacuum. The dimensions are 14 inches tall to the top of the handle and 14 inches wide - front hole to back hole - and 10 inches thick. The on and off switch is a solid rocking style switch with a very audible click and the suction is " unbelievably super strong " for only a 2 HP vacuum.
The noise is sufficient but still less than any household canister vac that I have ever used or owned. It comes with a small piece of velcro attached to the 2 prong power cord to keep the power cord neatly secured either around or through the handle. There are 4 slots on the outside at the top back of the canister to store the 4 solid and well made attachments in an upright position. There are plastic areas on both sides to snap in and secure the hose but I find it quicker and much simpler to simply store the hose inside the unit. The unit is very easy to clean and dry after every use.
The colours are a really nice orange and black with “ ArmorAll Utility Vac “ decals on top and both sides of the canister. At the very modest price I paid for the unit ( under $50. ) I’m pleased to inform everyone that the “ Armor All “ Dura Vac AA255 10-Litre / 2.5-Gallon 2 HP Wet and Dry Vacuum is 100% worth every penny and does live up to the reviews it has accumulated. For those that are intending to use this little "super vac" on a daily basis for everything in your household you can buy a 3 Pack of blue cloth filters available at amazon.ca for less than $10.00
I strongly recommend this product and I hope you enjoyed my review and it was helpful.
My Dad had the Stinger/Workshop 2.5 Gallon Vac but it was tool tall to fit inside a rubbermaid bin and only had 1.75hp.
WORKSHOP Wet Dry Vac WS0250VA Compact, Portable Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner, 9.5 L (2.5 Gallon) Small Shop Vacuum Cleaner, 1.75 Peak HP Portable Vacuum
Likewise Shop Vac's 2.5 gallon Vacuum didn't fit in the rubbermaid bin and the design of the base made it tip over easy.
Shop-Vac 2036000 2.5-Gallon 2.5 Peak HP Wet Dry Vacuum, Small, Red/Black
I took a chance on the Dura Vac AA255 and it has exceeded my expectations.
1 - Compact Size: First off it's compact size fits neatly inside a large 77L Rubbermaid bin so it is easy to carry the vacuum and all my accessories
inside the rubbermaid bin. This makes it easy for me to carry the vacuum to and from my job sites and stores nicely in my van. This was the only Shop Vac styled Wet/Dry vacuum I could find that could do this
2 - Doesn't Tip Over: The second thing I like about this Dura Vac is that it doesn't tip over easily, even when I'm using a wand and floor attachment.
3 - Suction: As far as suction goes this vacuum has a 2HP, 6Amp motor and for it's size has excellent suction. My previous vacuums were an old hoover compact vacuum, a Dewalt vacuum and lastly a Milwaukee cordless 18V vacuum and this Dura Vac beat them all with power to spare.
4 - Standard Hose: This vacuum uses a standard sized vacuum hose and attachments which some others don't (Hoover/Dewalt). I used a floor wand extension and floor brush from another Vacuum with not problem.
5 - Easy to Clean: The dust bin is quick and easy to empty and the filter is easy to clean.
6 - Blower: I love the ability to use this vacuum as an air blower as well as a vacuum.
7 - Wet/Dry Pickup: Most of my work is cleaning up dust and debris, but occasionally I have the need to do a small wet pickup.
1 - Friction Fit Dust Bin: I wish the friction fit dust bin clips on the side were snap hinges like other larger shop vacs. The friction fit plastic slots work but if they ever crack or loosen up there's no easy way to repair or replace them.
Overall I'm very happy with the Dura Vac and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small, compact Wet/Dry shop vac.
What I love about this vacuum because it met my needs; powerful, came with different vacuum mouth adaptors, and small enough to store in the car trunk without taking too much space. The adaptors that come with the vacuum allows you to vacuum the crevices beside your car seats which is often difficult to do with the vacuums found at car wash and gas stations. I have not yet tried the wet vacuum function as I have not found an opportunity to use it in the car yet.
Overall, it is definitely a worthwhile product to purchase. I would love this product more if there was a way to store the larger accessories in the vacuum itself. I always keep it in the car and it seems that only the hose and several small adaptors are able to fit snuggly inside.
There's one glaring issue that will become apparent soon as I found out.
The tabs that keep the two halves of the unit together only lightly snap together. When the vacuum is on and upright, the unit is sealed completely. However, without a proper latch mechanism locking the two halves together the unit partially separates due to the basic design. When it tipped over in the back of my car during transportation, it emptied a large amount of what I had vacuumed up onto my trunk floor.
I realise that this is what you get when you aim for a lower price point, but this seems too cheap.
If you're okay with saving a few bucks for build quality then this is the one to buy, just know that there will be drawbacks.
