I dislike the term awesome, but I must use it in this case to describe this book. This massive book contains hundreds of exercises and techniques that a first responder, or any person for that matter, can use to consciously improve their overall wellness. We speak about, but often neglect the civilian workers who experience identical feelings and sometimes nightmares that plague this line of work. And don’t forget the family, our precious loved ones who have to relate to the day-to-day worries we are presented with.
The author has blogged, lectured on and now written about several key concepts techniques that are vital to those in blue:
• Blue Trauma Syndrome
• The 7 Key Factors of Tactical Resilience™
• Comprehensive Survival Skills to Save Your Life and Your Health
• Critical Concepts for Stress Reduction
• How to Armor Your Agency™
• The Concept of True Blue Valor™
The testimonials attributed to the book and the author come from the “Who’s Who” of leaders in this field. As an “end” user, I feel the impetus to put in a good word too. Highly recommended!!!
Cops are fairly well trained with their firearms and defensive tactics, but as an industry we tend to burry our heads in the sand about the real threat-the silent killer of law enforcement officers.
Armor Your Self is a complete manual providing solutions and resources for the dangers of law enforcement that plague virtually every officer: heart disease, cancer, diabetes, suicide, fatigue, depression, PTSD.
Every officer and family member should have this resource early in their career and return to it often.
A good read that could be used as a textbook or personal wellness guide for an officer at any point in their career.
