I mostly chose it for the convenience it offered for middle of the night breast feeding, which I ultimately didn't end up doing. However, it still makes it very easy to know when our little one has woken up or begins to stir to eat. Having him close gives us the chance to respond before he becomes hysterical. I feel like it takes longer to hear them and respond when relying on a monitor, so the Arm's Reach helps to serve this purpose well.
The mattress is nice and firm, our baby sleeps very well in the Arm's Reach.
The bassinet isn't the most beautiful thing - it is quite plain, but it serves it's purpose. The smaller size was just right for our needs.
Set up was not hard at all - my husband found it very easy to put together and install the bassinet. It connected to our bed seamlessly - however, we did need to buy the adapters so many people talk about. It is indeed a shame they don't include the adapters - definitely an oversight on the company's part. Ultimately, another $17 or so is a drop in the bucket when you're shopping for a new baby and I think the company knows that and selfishly takes advantage of it.
Anyways, the adapters also connected and operated with no problem. The bassinet is sturdy and stable. The storage underneath is great for blankets or swaddles or even for mom and dad's extra stuff that has been cast aside to make room for the new boss!
I really can't find anything negative to say about the Arm's Reach Mini! I'm glad I bought it, I will use it until little one outgrows it by weight, then he will move to his big boy crib in his own room!
For the first couple of weeks she had to breast feed on the couch in the living room because of the pain she was in.
So we're in week three now, and she does get up, get the baby out of the co-sleeper and breast feed sitting up in bed with the "brest friend" breast-feeding pillow, but it still isn't the romantic reach over and breast feed idea.
The only reasonable solution I found that worked was to just wrap the existing mattress that came with the co-sleeper with a "BabeSafe" cover. Those are popular in New Zealand (which has almost non existing SIDS cases) and are sold in the U.S. through a family run business: [...]. We got a size A BabeSafe cover ($40) and it worked great. There are quick and easy instructions on how to wrap your mattress online plus I think a YouTube tutorial video as well.
Other than that, the bassinet itself has ample storage space and looks nice.
* As others mention, it isn't super easy to move around (2 wheels, 2 posts), so we ended up putting a hand me down cradle on the other side of the bed for my husband's "shift"
* We needed the risers to get it to a height where I can reach the baby
* It is hard to get the baby out without sitting up and putting your legs between the bassinet and the bed
* The baby refused to sleep in it for the first few weeks, but we trained her to use it.
* At 23 inches long, she's already kicking the bottom of the bassinet, so I'm a little worried we won't get to use it much longer
* The mattress is stiff, but that's what the doctors and associations all recommend now, so, sorry baby. :)

I loved my co sleeper. I had a c section and a heavy baby. This allowed me to adjust the height to fit right next to my bed. I had easy access to the baby. Read morePublished 16 days ago by SRebello
