This is my third one of this pot. I have one for me, one for my mom, and one for when I travel. It's easy to clean and it makes perfect rice. I love that it's a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing. It takes about 22 minutes to cook rice. Use a timer and you will never have to worry about clumpy or burnt rice ever again. This item and a preset timer for 22 minutes make a great gift for a busy person like a teacher or student. This is also great for the elderly who are getting forgetful and it's easy to use because it's one button to slide.

Our family eats a lot of rice and there's no easier way to make it than a tabletop rice cooker. We had one of these for years, and when it finally died, we had the idea to buy an expensive one to replace it (I'm not sure why, I guess we thought it would be better somehow). Well, not only was the expensive one impossible to clean, it died within a year. So we're back to this model and very satisfied. Don't waste your money on a fancy rice cooker, this one does the job just fine and (for us) it lasts longer.

It works fine and is pretty small, makes enough rice for about 3-4 people max. Comes with a nonstick bowl, plastic shamoji, and a very short power cord maybe 2.5 ft long at most? Only tried twice, about 33% capacity the first time and 75% the second time and both times it cooked the calrose rice evenly with no burning or dry/wet spots either time. It works well so far for only costing $20, but would it really cut into their profits that much to install a 10 cent switch to make it shut off once the cook cycle was done so it doesn't stay on "warm" mode and eventually burn the rice if you forget to unplug it?
