Take the guesswork out of making rice with this rice cooker and food steamer from Aroma. It cooks up to 12 cups of moist, fluffy rice and can simultaneously steam vegetables and meats for easy, all-in-one meals. It automatically switches to warming mode when cooking is finished, keeping food warm until ready to serve. You can even cook jambalayas, soups and stews! The break-resistant tempered glass lid allows you to monitor rice without releasing steam, so your food is cooked to perfection every time. And the nonstick inner pot makes cleanup a breeze.

It is large for one person, but you are able to make large amounts of rice and meals when you need it. I dont think it is much bigger than the 6 cup or 8 cup models. It seems to handle small amounts of rice (1 cup) very well. Plus I have the comfort knowing I can make more than enough rice to feed a army! The steaming basket, large enough for Veggies and Meats is also a plus because you can steam them while you cook your rice. Perfect for making Yoshinoya style chicken bowls (Smile).
No complaints so far. Sure beats the hassle of making rice on the stovetop along with the cleanup. This cooker sets up in a snap and clean up is a breeze.
Its digital and easy to use. Instructions that came with it are easy to understand. Seems very well built and looks sleek. Very comparable to the more expensive rice cookers.
It makes 12 cups of cooked white rice and 6 cups of cooked brown rice. (1 Cup is actually 3/4 cup measured in rice cookers).
Dont know why I waited so long to get a rice cooker. This one is a winner.
I wish the rice cooker could be smaller, but it looks good and instructions are clear.
This new cooker arrived yesterday and I put it to use last night. It is much smaller than my old cooker: this is a 12-cup capacity compared to the older 20-cup. In hindsight, I would have preferred another 20-cup cooker. Oh well... Keep in mind that this capacity may be a bit misleading. I never approached 20-cup yield of cooked rice in my older unit. At most, I may have yielded 10 cups.
The new cooker worked just fine the first time around for cooking jasmine rice. However, it seemed to take longer to cook the rice than the old 20-cup unit. This new cooker took about 30 minutes to cook 2 cups of uncooked rice plus 4 cups of water. The cooked rice yield was a bit over half-full in the cooking pot. I would not recommend cooking more rice than that because it may create a mess. You will need to leave a bit of headspace above the rice to keep the starchy liquid from cooking over.
For clean-up, the internal cooking pot is non-stick. Cleaning that was easy. The underside of the lid, however, is not non-stick and is not detachable. Starchy residue will accumulate on the underside of the lid. This needs to be cleaned up after every use using a damp cloth. This is not too difficult. Follow clean-up instructions in the owner's manual.
Overall, I am statisfied with this purchase. Like I indicated before, in hindsight, I would have preferred a 20-cup unit.
