I keep seeing all these 6-quart pressure cookers, but there isn't a lot to be found in a smaller size. Even 4 quarts is a LOT of food. This little beauty is only 4 CUPS. It's perfect to make 1 or 2 portions, avoiding the ongoing leftovers.
The bowl holds 4 cups, so picture one of those big Pyrex measuring cups. You know, the 4 cup ones. It includes a steaming rack, measuring cup, rice paddle, and a little ladle. There's a coupon for $1 off a bag of rice, plus some recipes (which actually sound good, and include ingredients people actually eat. It's none of that "braised goose eyeball" stuff).
The instruction manual that comes with it is clear and easy to follow. The entire thing is in English, though - there's no section in other languages. I would imagine other languages are available online if you need them.
My favorite childhood meal takes 3-4 hours to cook in the oven. It's Beef Burgundy - poor man's Beouf Bourginon. I can have it on the table in under 30 minutes with this thing. The irony is that if I use this to make the beef burgundy, I have to cook the rice on the stove. It works out well, though, because the rice is ready when the burgundy is, so I can enjoy my favorite meal way more often than just my birthday!
Anyway, if you're cooking for 1 or 2 and you'd rather stick a fork in your eye than eat more leftovers, this thing is what you need. If you like to cook for lots of people, you'll need a bigger one. Go someplace else, you weirdo extrovert.
1 pound beef stew meat, cubed (or whatever cut of cow you like)
1 can Campbell's Condensed GOLDEN Mushroom soup (NOT cream of mushroom. There is a huge difference). Do NOT dilute the soup.
1 can Campbell's Condensed French Onion soup (do not dilute the soup)
1 can burgundy wine. Something fancy, that comes in a big jug with a screw top.
Dump all that stuff in your cooker, and set it for beef/stew. Notice there are no pesky vegetables in here to mess it up. Don't add any. Don't get all fancy and brown the meat. Just dump it in, give it a good stir, and let if do its thing. Serve over white rice. Minute Rice if you're feeling nostalgic. If you REALLY feel strongly about a vegetable, you could cook up some canned green beans, French style. This you will have leftovers of, but it's ok because it's delicious and has no pesky nutritional value.
Side note: When I first plugged it in I thought it was a broken/defective unit because when I'd plug it in I'd hear the power beep like when I'd plug in my 6qt Instant Pot & the display would come on but the display on the Aroma multi cooker wouldn't light up. But after unplugging & plugging it in to the electrical socket several times & hearing the audible beep each time I realized that the digital display won't appear until you push the Keep Warm/On icon button. Duh 🙄.
I would recommend this over larger sized one for every day use. And have a larger one for those occassuonal big items
Cooks my rice in 10-15 mins which is fast enough for me to fry some vegetables and egg in the meantime.
