I have to say I disagree with the other reviewer. I have also been using essential oils for many years and I love the blends.
Energize- While I have often used "energizing" blends that contain citrus oils, I am enjoying this blend equally well and all the oils in this blend have invigorating properties. It includes Rosemary (one of its widely touted benefits is the ability to improve memory and learning), Elemi (not as common but still has great benefits including boosting the immune system and stimulating circulation), Peppermint (has been recommended for people with chronic fatigue and can help relieve headaches- among just a couple of its uses), Basil (encourages mental alertness and clarity) and Ginger (though most popular for its benefits to digestion, it also has stimulating properties). I especially like the spicy ginger note in this oil- it gives a warm and unique blend.
I haven't had the chance to use the muscle pain relief blend yet, but I like the smell- this blend is definitely minty but since I love mint, it is no problem for me. It reminds me more of a pack of gum rather than Icy Hot (a good thing in my opinion). It contains Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove Bud, and Peppermint oils- all of which are used for their pain relieving benefits.
I am excited to try the Breathe Easy blend this cold season- every year I have used Eucalyptus oil in a bowl of boiling water- breathing in the steam with a towel over your head- works like a charm, but boy I am not a fan of eucalyptus by itself. This blend is much softer and more pleasant. It has Rosemary, Eucalptyus, Peppermint, Lavender, Tea Tree, Ravensara, and Thyme.
The 4 Thieves blend is based on a traditional blend that according to legend was used by grave robbers to prevent contracting deadly diseases. Ick! But the oils used have antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties so I guess it makes sense. I plan to turn this one into a spray to take to work and the scent is perfect for fall- not too spicy or sweet.
I have saved my 2 favorites for last! Stress Relief and Rest & Relax- Every night I have been mixing these 2 in my diffuser and I am hooked. I love the way they smell together! Stress Relief has Clary Sage (helps regulate blood pressure), Lemon (calming and uplifting - yep it can do both!), & Ylang Ylang (antidepressant & helps lower blood pressure)- it is flowery but the Lemon and Clary Sage balance it out so it isn't too sweet.
Rest & Relax has Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Tangerine, and Labdanum oils. Lavender and Chamomile are well known for their relaxing properties but Tangerine and Labdanum are also calming. I love Lavender essential oil and use it a ton but I like the way this it isn't overpowered by the Lavender - it has a smooth relaxing smell to it.
One little thing though -I learned this while pregnant with my kiddos- if you are pregnant or nursing, ask your doctor and do your research because some oils should be avoided during pregnancy (like clary sage and labdanum).
I was so happy to find this selection, it is exactly what I need and a great value. Ingredients are clearly listed, directions included and the packaging is beautiful! I went on their website and found this blog about blending (they know what they are doing):
Mixing essential oils is part art and part science. The chemistry of the oil is important – this determines its volatility, viscosity and its properties.
· Lighter and smaller molecules produce thinner oils (less viscous) that are more volatile (aromatic) and absorb in the body faster. · Heavier and larger molecules produce thicker oils (more viscous) that are less volatile (aromatic) and absorb in the body more slowly.
When you combine lighter molecules with heavier molecules, their synergistic effect allows for the lighter molecules to last longer. More importantly, blending correctly produces a synergistic effect of the oils properties – meaning that the combined effect of the oils is greater than the sum of those oils individual effects.
Like most things in nature, the harmonious effects of multiple healing agents working together create amazing super remedies.
These blends are exactly what I've wanted but always been skeptical about. After reading the reviews I decided to get them a try and I'm so glad I did. I love the blends they've used and they seem to be very high quality essential oils. I love the way each one smells and so far the two I've tried work very well in my diffuser. If you're on the fence about blends, definitely give these a try!
My favorite mix of oils. There is one for everything and I don't have to guess and try and mix my own. Plus, they all have different ingredients. A lot of have seen mix similar blends so everything comes out smelling the same. This is a great starter pack and definitely recommended as a great gift!
I am very impressed with these essential oils blends. They arrived on time in a very nice package and they were immediately put to use in my diffuser. The Rest and Relax blend did just that—it provided a calm and cool aroma that did just what it was meant—it calmed me down and even made my son, who is very active, slow down a bit. I also use the Pain relief blend on my shoulder after I play tennis. It works well in relieving some of the muscle soreness I feel after tennis. I am very happy with my purchase.
Love, love, love this oil set. I have tried a few different essential oils this year and these are the best quality I have come across. Each smell is unique and really do what they say they'll do! Rest & Relaxation is my personal favorite - I have been using it as a bedroom spray. Really does make the room a tranquil place to be. I also used Breath Easy as fragrance in some homemade candles and they came out great! Definitely going to use these in homemade Christmas gifts.
I really like the selection in this set, covers all the bases for me. I especially like the Stress Relief and Muscle Pain Relief. When I get home from work, the first thing I do is start my diffuser with the stress relief blend. On the weekends I tend to overdue it sports-wise and the muscle Pain Relief blend really helps. I don’t dilute, I apply it directly on my sore muscles. I am really pleased with this product and will purchase it again.
I am a relative new-comer to aromatherapy but after a reaction to some chemical additives I went searching for natural solutions. I have tried many products out there and this is by far my favorite. I don’t have a diffuser (yet) but apply directly or sometimes with a little bit of coconut oil. The Muscle Pain Relief blend works wonders on my aching hip after a long bike ride and the Stress Relief blend is now at my office. Next business trip, 4 Thieves blend is definitely going.
