About the Author
Though born in New York, Charles T. Stewart spent his first eleven years in Brazil. After Boys High School and some college in Atlanta, he served in New Guinea and the Philippines, where he was wounded and decorated. On returning, he received BA and PhD degrees in Economics at George Washington University, taught at Utah State, did research for government agencies, then joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, becoming Director of Economic Research before returning to George Washington University as Professor of Economics, Emeritus since 1992. Married to Nancy Thayer, he has three children, Eileen, David, and Jocelyn, and two grandchildren. He has published extensively in the social sciences; his most recent book is Inequality and Equity. This is his first book of poetry, an avocation for half a century.
