ARRESTED features over 360 pix in no particular order, most being n'er-do-wells although there are a few shots of crime victims, criminologists, etc. Within its 200-odd pages are hard-core types like Albert Fish, Stalin, Lenin, the 'Unabomber,' Vito Genovese, Carlo Gambino, Bugsy Siegel, Richard Ramirez, Jeffrey Dahmer, Rudolf Hoess, Oswald, Ruby along with lesser lights such as Ronnie Biggs. Celebs include Nolte, Jagger, Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison, Charles Barkley, Al Pacino, Hugh Grant, David Crosby, Jerry Lee, Sinatra and even Bill Gates! Miscellaneous types include Martin Luther King, Axis Sally, Tokyo Rose, John Wayne Bobbit and Gus Hall. It also has sections on Concentration Camp internees, Red Brigade members, French gang members circa 1913, etc. Each pix has accompanying text. The book shows its Italian origins by featuring such notable criminals as Renato Vallanzasca, Vincenzo Perugia and Giuseppe Musolino, hardly household names!?!
At best, ARRESTED is a great time-waster, ideal for airport lounges or 'ye olde bathroom.' B&T carries it at $5.98 so its faults - lack of organization, creaky text - are immaterial. Your call, folks!
