I for one thought this would be another page turner, oh how I was sadly mistaken. This book was bland. I grew bored and I didn’t care about either of the characters.
Bianca became a cardboard character and I didn’t care much for her after all that unnecessary angst she put the reader through.
Lucas was supposed to be so macho, alpha, but he turns out to be a wimp.
I started skipping pages as I lost interest of the book. Bianca traveling all over Australia was not that much entertaining to me.
I abhorred the way she keeps bringing up the ex husband, it was exhausting. And then how she up and left Lucas hanging was definitely a turn off.
The book lacks drama and a well-defined, precise plot line. I’m so over heroine “finding themselves” trope. Bianca became unlikable to me and I couldn’t root for her or Lucas.
Their chemistry fizzled as the bland sex scenes in this book.
The follow up was a flop in my opinion and was nothing like part one.
The storyline was different than most interracial romances. This was one of few that mentioned that Bianca needed different hair products than Luc. The book made Australians almost oblivious to different races. This was a bit of a stretch - big difference between being accepting of all races and totally unaware that there are different races, almost insulting. Liked the two POVs in this book giving good backstory on both Luc and Bianca. However, did she have to get pregnant even though they practiced safe sex and even used the morning after pill? An unexpected pregnancy, Please!!
Still, this was a well written interracial romance though the sex was a bit graphic for my taste. I would have loved if more detail of her visits to different places in Australia had been included. Good use of colloquialisms which were easily understood.
This love story has fun, laughter, indecision, heartache, healing and love. The whole story showed that love doesn't have a time table. There is no set rule of how long you need to "know" someone for love to happen. Stop and think about it. Loving your child happens immediately even before he or she is born. Yes, there are some people out there that it's not true for.
Lucas and Bianca laughed , teased and worked at being together eventually. The friends and family were a hoot. Loved his family and their fun and love for one another.
This is a well written love journey that has all of the feels a really good love story should have.
Luc is probably the perfect Hero. I was sweet, understanding and compassionate. I could feel his love for Bianca in every word. And I think that’s something special you don’t get in every book.
Bianca is smart, sassy and ready to find herself. I admire her strength throughout this book.
I absolutely loved the heat, passion, and connection between Bianca and Luc. I read Mile High through the Books + Main posts and then again when it was published as Book 1 in this duet. I was so excited for this couple but I never expected the story that was delivered. Beth Cranford wrote an amazing story and I’m so glad I got to experience it!
