I use glue guns for my work for long periods of time so my views are based on the situation where you're going to use the gun a lot. I have burnt out many cheap guns and some over priced branded guns from Stanley and Bosh, both of which were flashy looking guns constructed the same way as the cheapo ones. The Arrow TR550 has now stood up to 18 months of constant use, been left switched on over night a couple of times and it still works like a charm. The outer body is where you first notice the difference being made of a hard rosin based plastic, different from all the other guns I've tried, it cleans off quite well. To those that are complaining about dribbling nozzles and flimsy stand, you obviously don't use glue guns much.
They all drip and the stand is useless on all these guns, I take mine off and throw it away, put your gun in a sturdy bowl, when the glue cools it pull off very easily from a glazed breakfast bowl, the weight of the bowl will stop the chord pulling it off your desk. The last thing that sells this to me is the long lever which gives you more control and the inside mechanism that is way beyond any other gun in the same price bracket.
Do yourself a favour, buy one of these and learn how to use it properly, the only gun I'd consider buying again after trying many over the years.

My other glue guns didn't last but this top of the line Arrow one has. I am really happy with the hours of use I get at a time. Highly recommend this product.

I bought this glue gun a couple of weeks ago. Works great. Heats up quick and does not drip. The gun is ergonomically desgined and feels comfortable. A couple of things to remember:

1. Some people have complained about the glue running and dripping. The type of glue you use will make a difference.

2. A glue gun is not a refrigerator - you cannot plug it in, walk away, and leave it running endlessly. It is a tool for temporary, momentary use - keep that in mind.

I use my Arrow glue gun for many hours each week and find it lives up to a good dependable tool. Customer service help from Arrow is top notch and parts very reasonable. I had to replace the little black movable base after I broke it.

Highly recommend this tool.

Saw a few negative reviews about it dripping, and the useless plastic stand and the deal is this; I agree - the stand it comes with is beyond useless (it would work fine if the gun weighed 5 lbs but it weighs 3 ounces) and so I yanked mine off immediately - you don't need the stand (what do you need a stand for???). So i think if it's on the stand, in a more-or-less vertically inclined position, it prob drips but i lay mine on it's side and it doesn't really drip at all and I do some serious hot gluing (do a lot of arts n crafts stuff with 4 kids) so my gun has seen 1oo's of sticks. I will say this, mine has trouble feeding sometimes but it always quickly goes away. i think it's just nature of the beast. i don't think this is a ultra high grade glue gun, it's a $14 glue gun. for a 14 dollar glue gun, it gets 5 stars, if i paid $65 for it, it would get 3 stars.

I do a lot of crafting with a glue gun and have gone through a bunch of cheap ones. So I decided to try a better product and purchased this Arrow TR550. I was very disappointed. It drips like crazy, and the glue builds up in the tray that doubles as a stand. When you go to use it this puddle of glue is in the way and often ends up burning your fingers. If you don't clean it out while it is hot, which is not that easy, it dries and glues the nozzle to the stand. Actually the whole stand is pretty useless, as the gun is unstable and often just falls over when you put it down. I would have to say that the cheap $7.99 guns I have used work better and are easier to use than this one. I do not recommend it.

I use a glue gun alot, and this glue gun heats up really fast and hot. Like someone else said, it doesn't stand up to well, but my nozle does not leak. I would recommend it.

This is the first hot glue gun that I have owned, and I see now by the other reviews that all guns are not like this one. This thing is frustrating to use because the glue just basically pours out of the nozzle when you set it down. I'm looking for a new gun.
