These Arrow freezer containers have made things so much easier. They stack neatly on the shelves and are easy to lift out and re-stack. The assortment of sizes is great for me. I am not using them to "put up" garden veggies. I use them to store bulk nuts, leftovers and cook-ahead foods and soups, cookies, sauces, homemade ice cream.....anything that goes in the freezer. I don't have to worry about things getting crushed (cookies, nuts) or a bag getting torn and leaky and causing freezer burn.
I would also like to add the Arrow customer service is the best. I phoned them with a problem of a missing lid (could be I threw it away accidentally when unpacking?). A live person answered the phone and I had my replacement lid in a couple of days at no cost to me.
And one more important thing..all their products are MADE IN AMERICA.
Update June 2013- I am still using this set with no problems with cracking or warping. Lids still sealing tightly.
These are fine. They hold stuff. They stack. They say they're BPA-free. They seem to be the only product like it on the market, so if you want to freeze stuff (and freezing stuff retains nutritional value waaaay better than canning does), you should probably buy these.
There are two ways in which they are inferior to the old Ball freezer boxes: the plastic is thinner, and they aren't quite as square. I feel like I need to cool stuff down more before putting it in these than the older boxes, because the plastic seems very unsturdy when it's hot. And the bottoms, rather than being exactly the same size as the lids, are slightly smaller, so towers of boxes don't feel as stable as I'd like. That said, I've never had enough space in my freezer to worry about anything falling over!
As far as the assortment here goes, it just depends on your needs. I'm realizing now that maybe I should have just bought a bunch of quart boxes and a few pint boxes, and skipped the bigger sizes completely. I don't have a good enough sense of exactly how much of whatever I need to freeze to feel like a pint and a half is the right size where a quart or a pint wouldn't do just as well. I've used one of the half gallon containers, but only because it was there and I was out of quarts -- I'd much rather grab two quarts from the freezer than be committed to using a whole half gallon. But if you're feeding a family, a half gallon is probably very reasonable.Read more ›
The containers are sturdy and the lids fit tightly so they won't fall off.
I am using them as freezer containers and refrigerator containers. If I want to fill with a hot item, I allow the item to cool off first.
In all, you get 12 - 2 cup containers, 8 - 3 cup containers, 6 - 4 cup containers and 4- 8 cup containers.
Oh and another thing, the containers stack up nicely saving room in the refrigerator and freezer.

So far so good! My only complaint is the color. I wanted blue (like the picture), but got a bright lime green color.Published 6 months ago by Amber S.
These are great for leftovers, my intended purpose for their purchase. The sides are pliable as others have mentioned, however, once the lid is on, they are more uniform. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Sherrill Basse
