I ordered this table for my daughter who has recently become interested in sewing. She was always "borrowing" my folding table so I searched EVERYWHERE to find something similar for a reasonable price. As my table is around 30 years old, the search was not easy. I found this table on Amazon for a reasonable price and decided to "go for it." It arrived today and I took it out to examine the condition before gifting it to my daughter. As some other reviewers noted, the inside edge of the drop down area is in fact a little rough, but it had been painted to reduce some of the "snag" factor. After viewing videos on the Arrow website, I noted that the manufacturer recommends leaving on the sewing platform (the removable part around the free arm of a sewing machine) when the machine is lowered into the table. I lowered the insert and placed my machine inside the table with the platform over the free arm and it fit beautifully. That will definitely prevent snagging on some fabric types.
A couple of other posters commented they were not happy that a chain holds the insert in the dropped position. I understand their confusion, but in reality, the lowering arm fully supports the lowered inset and I believe the chain is strictly a backup safety precaution.
The size and height of the table are terrific and will provide ample space for her to cut out her projects prior to sewing them; the folding legs are very sturdy and the videos on the Arrow website show how to properly lock them into place to prevent wobbling. As I ran my machine, there was no wobble, even at extreme sewing speed on several surfaces (hardwood, tile & carpeting).
It is fairly lightweight (about 34 pounds) and folds back easily for storage in a closet or under a bed.
I am exceptionally pleased with this table; in fact I might have to order another for myself!
Thank you Amazon for making this terrific table available!

At first glance, this is a nice, stowable little craft table. It was very easy to set up, there was no assembly required, and it doesn't take up much space. But when I started to sew a long seam and got my machine up to speed the table shakes so much it was impossible to use my machine to it's full capacity. I had to keep the stitching speed to < half speed to avoid the shaking. Nice for small amounts of sewing (hemming, etc.) but not stable enough for making larger projects.

So as a promotion present, I treated myself to this adjustable sewing table. I had screwdriver ready to put together, but lo and behold, really no assembly required! Popped open the legs, took me a few minutes to adjust the level to my sewing machine and viola! It doesn't wobble, but I've not sewn with it yet, but for small apartments or work areas, this is a MUST HAVE item! Best investment, especially if you quilt and need that extra "flat space".

After years of searching for a sewing table, I decided to purchase this one based on the price and functionality. I have two separate sewing machines I like to use, so being able to EASILY adjust the sewing machine height when I switch machines is essential. I was pleasantly surprised to see a measuring tape across the top front of the table. I don't recall having read about that when I purchased the table. It's quite sturdy and easy to use. Great value for the money.

I did lots of research before I decided on a table...and I'm really happy with my purchase. Although I would have liked a cabinet that had drawers and folded up for my guests when they arrived, they were cost prohibitive. This table fits my machine perfect. Measure your machine accurately! Mine fit perfect with just 1/4" to spare. It drops down so the needle is perfectly level with the table. You can actually adjust the drop by a couple of inches so your machine should fit properly. It is stable. The drop shelf does not have a finished edge, nor the inside of the table cut edge. I sanded the front edge a bit, and had my husband run a bead of caulking along it. A simple fix, but could easily be done at the factory if they wanted to. I guess the price point means we take care of the little things, and it was easy. It would be very easy to move around to other locations if I chose to, and I can easily put it away when guests come. I think I'll be happy with this table for a long time.

Update 4/13: I still really like this table. It is still as stable as a table should be but I use it for quilting, so I do not go super fast and get lots of vibrations. I really became frustrated with my sewing machine because my bobbin case is below the level of the table when dropped and it was a pain to swap bobbins. Because my machine just fit perfect, I would have to unplug my cord to lift table, swap bobbin, lower table and replug. I had my dh use his drummel tool and sand a nice curve out of the side where my plugs should go, and now I can lift and lower without unplugging my machine each time! Well worth the little bit of tweaking. If you have a lower bobbin, try this fix and you will love both your table and machine more :)
