The Art of Aardman Hardcover – Import, September 7, 2016
by
Peter Lord
(Contributor)
This book celebrates 40 years of the Aardman studio by taking the reader on a tour through its archives. The studio responsible for creating Academy Award(R) winning and nominated movies such as Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Chicken Run, and The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists shares its creations' evolution with initial outlines where the characters were developed sketch by sketch, beautiful concept art, and the settings that created the background on which these stories played out. With forewords from founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton, extracts from the sketchbooks of creators and directors including Lord, Nick Park and Richard Starzak, this book is the essential guide to the animation studio that brought much-loved characters and unforgettable stories to life.

My son is a huge fan of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Grommit. This book was on his Birthday Wish List so I ordered it as one of his presents. He is very pleased with it and enjoying looking through it

A pretty recopolatory about Aardman productions. It's not the deninitive art and making book about this fantastic company, but it's a decent a economic book. For more animation books pics enter in my account;)

The Art of Aardman: The Makers of Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and More
By David Sproxton and Peter Lord
2017
A LibraryThing Early Reviewers book.
This is an over-sized, hard back coffee table book filled with images of character studies and production stills. There is very little written information about the images or the processes or steps that went into them. In fact, there is a 4 page intro, and each chapter has a paragraph or two, and that is all the commentary. The art inside is nice, but without much context. Plus, some of the art is a little too small to pick out lots of detail.
I hate rating this so low, since I love Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, but I was disappointed in what the book failed to deliver.
2 1/2 stars.
