Ich habe Hunde und ich fotografiere gerne und bin auch keine Anfängerin auf dem Gebiet, ich habe aber noch ein paar Schwächen und war deswegen auf der Suche nach einem guten Buch zum Thema Hundefotografie.
Das vorliegende Buch wurde von der amerikanischen Leserschaft sehr gut bewertet, also habe ich das Buch bestellt.

Es ist etwas mehr als DIN-A-5 groß und hat 126 Seiten mit vielen Bildern. Geschrieben ist das ganze in großer Schrift, was ich trotz meiner Ü50 sehr gut ohne Brille lesen kann.

Zum Inhalt
Es geht fast ausschließlich um Studiofotografie - fast, dazu später mehr.
Wie positioniere ich meinen Hund bzw. Hunde? Welche weiteren Accessoires benötige ich für eine Szene? Das Thema Hintergrund wird behandelt. Und ein großes Thema ist das Licht in Form von zusätzlicher, künstlicher Beleuchtung und wie ich dieses Licht platziere. Auf Kamera(equipment), Einstellungen und Bildbearbeitung wird gar nicht eingegangen.
Es gibt auch ein paar Seiten zur Fotografie draußen, aber auch hier steht das Licht in Form zusätzlicher Beleuchtung im Vordergrund - ohne scheint es nicht zu gehen. Hinzu kommt, dass es rein um statische Bilder, also ohne Bewegung geht. Und genau darum ging es mir, um Bilder von Hunden in Bewegung.
Das einzig positive an dem Buch sind die vielen Fotos, die man als Anregung - für Studioaufnahmen - nehmen kann. Für den Preis allerdings, was das Buch kostet, habe ich es zurück gesendet - das steht für mich in absolut keinem Verhältnis. 126 Seiten, groß geschrieben, sind für ein Buch nicht wirklich viel und es mutet eher an wie eine Zeitschrift. Es sind für mich keine neuen Informationen im Buch, da gibt es auf dem deutschen Markt bessere und umfangreichere Bücher.

I was excited for this book, thinking it would be educational. Shipping took a long time, this book is no where near worth the price tag. The photos are nice sure, but the content is bare minimal. I learned absolutely nothing, there is zero context to take away. The main message, use lighting for better photos. That’s it. Doesn’t give much tips past that. Use light….. gee thanks… care too go into details?? Or just tell people to use it and figure it out… best of luck? Honestly sooo not worth the money. Small book, not many pages, mostly photos and just poorly written. Should only cost like $5 bucks if you want to view some dog images. I wouldn’t recommend this book. To give you an idea how small, I read the entire book in less then an hour. Soooo disappointing!!
