This is 120 pages of details, diagrams, and tips on putting together cases. There are hand drawn line diagrams on every single page, maybe an average of 3-4 per page, plus some photos. This was written back in the 70's, so the styles and objects are different (cb radio case?) but the overall designs and techniques are universal. I don't know anything about the person that wrote this book, but he clearly was someone who spent years and years learning this trade, and spent a tremendous amount of time putting this together. It's a set of lessons and tricks from an old time expert.
Yes, others have commented, it does assume some experience with the basics of putting leather together, and that's covered in another one of his books, but I won't ding my review for that, because this isn't titled "how to do pretty complicated leather work with zero experience". This isn't the for dummies book, it's a step or two past that. But it's readable for a complete novice.

There is so much in this book I will be busy for a while just working through the projects. It is a very old fashioned style, which will be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for, but the techniques are useful for anyone, and the detailed instructions are great. A surprising range of ammunition cases/pouches which I'm sure I can adapt to something I would actually use. There isn't an inch wasted in this book.

I really like this hand book. The illustrations are clear and the instructions are easy to follow. These are vintage looking leather cases that I really like. Also be aware that this handbook was copyright in 1979 so he is making cases for old outdated things like cameras from the 70's, but the cool part is you can still make these cases for just about anything. Will be buying the other 2 handbooks.

I don't have a lot of this kind of book yet to compare it with, but I found this book immensely useful. This is basically a book of illustrations with notes and instructions. If you learn better with visuals, this will be immensely helpful. While some of the projects, as others have mentioned, are for items that aren't really current, the techniques and methods shown are easily applicable to other projects. A lot of things are explained as to the how and why to give you the tools to do projects outside of what is presented in this book. Great buy.
