I'll start this off by saying that I LOVE Metal Gear. I love it so much. Its one of those series I've been playing since I was 11 years old. I've continuously found more out of it as I've grown older and its remained some of the most amazing pieces of art ever.(only rivaled by the wonder of Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Radical Dreamers and Xenogears) Now then, this review is under the assumption that there is a unanimous agreement that this collection is amazing, and this will focus on the cons instead of the pros, because the pros are basicallly, Every piece of released art of the franchise from 1-4 and peacewalker, and some unreleased art, promo, development, production/retail, ingame, whatever, are included and the pages are in great quality, and there's silver coating at the edges of every page, and much more.
1. I received this set of 800 pages across the 2 books and I LOVE them, but there are some cons. While I did not receive them in as bad of a condition as expected, the glue on some of the pages are too ingrained in the edges of some of the pages in the gallery works. Strangely the studio works does not appear to be affected by the glue maybe due to the lack of colour(maybe part of the coloured ink that they used?) This results in the glue ripping the bottom of some of the pages. Pull CAREFULLY!
2. The aforementioned silver colouring at the edges of the pages has glitter on it to make it look cool.
3. The weight is 12 pounds. For a weakling, such as myself, it is difficult to carry around.
4. I don't care that MGSV isn't in it. There's so much in this collection that I'd be ok with paying another 10$ for the hardcover of the MGSV artbook.
5. While the outer case is spiffy, and wonderful, the inside is very tight for the two books and makes it difficult to pull out the gallery works if in its original location in the set.
These are the only cons I can think of really, its a wonderful amazing set otherwise.

I remember when I was a nine-year-old boy!! When I discovered!? Yoji shinkawa art!! In Metal gear solid Playstation manual. It was so colorful His art is like 32K high definition on a OLED Display! With amazing high contrast before time!? And now 20 years later! I have it it means a lot to me! I thank God for bringing Yoji Shinkawa and Hideo Kojima to gather like brothers someday I hope I can be in the family! LOL like a little brother! The book brings back precious memories! Bonding with family members, in the past playing the game. As time moves on I could not let go.Of this art and game. If you want to know anything negative the only thing I have is Yoji Shinkawa Name is not on the book! He deserves his name on the art box! and books it’s his art! Also selecting standard shipping the experience was scary my box was damage inside the box was damaged the art box was damaged.Now the positive Amazon did a wonderful job! Replacing my damage items. Shipped it with loving care and support. Darkhorse company you’ve been around about 32 years. I think you should increase your shipping skills. I do not mean, to sound ungrateful. But you have passion! Never forget that continue, to show your passion! For art by adding, more shipping care.In like cushion in each corners. So the fans can feel like Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa. Dress as UPS driving around USA in a UPS truck delivering the art book thank you!
