From the Author
The artists interviewed for this book are inspired by nature's inherent harmonies to create paintings and sculptures of specific national park locations. However, they also find nature to be an internal source that nurtures the soul and an eternal concept that reveals our place in the universe. The reader will be inspired by great art, as well as by the artists' thoughtful commentary.
From the Inside Flap
In Art of the National Parks, seventy painters and sculptors offer distinctive visions of eight of the nation’s most beloved wild lands: Acadia, Everglades, Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion.

The only disappointment... as myself being an artist... is that there were no paintings of one of the most beautiful national forests/parks I have seen......No representation of "Allegheny National Forest." Since I live on the East Coast, I have been to Allegheny National Forest quite a few times and have seen and painted its beauty. Too bad it is not included in this book.
So if you are looking for ALL the National Parks being represented in this book, that you will not find, and that is a shame. Other national park places have also probably been missed.
Anyway, back to what I was saying in my first sentence...Wow! I will still rate this book a five because it deserves a 5 rating. This book will knock you off your feet with the high quality of artists and their art works. It is capable of taking your breath away and making you feel like you have visted those places that are represented in the book.
I highly recommend this beautiful book.
Congratulations and a thank you to the authors, publisher and the many wonderfully incredible artists for this spiritually awakening book in celebrating the beauty of nature.
Many of the paintings in the book imparted a feeling of the beauty and mystery of the park in question, and made me feel as if I were actually there in awe of the beauty. But, some of the paintings seemed more to be an expression of the artist's personality, with the actual park depicted being of minimal importance.
It is interesting to note that the alternate covers depicted on the back cover are all realistic, and of the quality I had expected to see throughout the book.
