I have a Simpsons book that I love because it gives you a lot of the "rules" when drawing characters. This has some of the rules (Rick has 12 points of hair, How to draw the nose right, etc), but I would have liked more. Like, this is how you draw hands, this is the general way you measure eyeballs, etc... It has a lot of artwork of obtuse characters, I would prefer the family plus a few main characters, and more emphasis on hands, facial expressions, etc.

Me ha gustado tanto que he hecho un video de este libro sn embargo creo que no se pueden publicar links de youtube por aca, tratare de subirlo pero al ser un video-review largo no se si se vaya a poder.
Bueno, para empezar: este es un libro GRANDE, por las fotos y ausencia de referencias pense que era un libro casi de bolsillo y no podria haber estado mas equivocado, el libro mide mas o menos 21x34 cm, si has visto libros de arte de peliculas como el de avatar, interestellar etc eso te dara una idea del tamaño.
Toda la calidad del ibro es una chulada, la portada blanca brilla en la noche y ademas pareciera a primera vista que esta texturizado, esta textura que sientes en realidad son los contornos de personajes que has visto en la serie! Mr meeseks, jerry, beth, krombopolus michael etc etc etc. La portada es dura y se siente resistente, la impresion de rick y morty es muy buena, se alcabza a sentir el relieve de sus contornos y se siente muy suave y liso las partes de color. En pocas palabras, desde la portada queda claro que este sera un excelente producto y ni siquiera lo hemos abierto.
Adentro encontraras que el libro esta dividido en capitulos, me parece que 4 o 5, cada capitulo es tematico por ejemplo el capitulo 1 es de los personajes principales, el segundo de los secundarios, hay un capitulo dedicado a la tecnologia de rick y morty, a los escenarios y finalmente a la parte de produccion (storyboards, scripts, sketches etc)
Este libro cuenta con CIENTOS de ilustraciones, desde arte conceptual hasta mostrar personajes que quizas tuvieron solo algunos minutos de presencia en pantalla pasando por los sketches y diseños que nunca llegaron a los capitulos producidos o ver cmo avanza un sketch hasta su version final e incluso guias de como se debe dbujar correctamente la.cabeza de rick!!!
Si tuviera que ponerle un pero, diria que le falto texto, en cada hoja hay varios cuadros de texto con explicaciones de los diseños/dibujos/sketches y/o datos interesantes de estos, sin embargo me hubiera gustado leer mas sobre procesos de trabajo, anecdotas, historias etc, como en la mayoria de libros de arte.
Sin embargo creo que lo que viene esta en la medida justa y ademas la cantidad de informacion que metieron en este libro por esos cientos de ilustraciones es BRUTAL. Entiendo que quiza hayan preferido sacrificar texto en lugar de quitar ilustraciones asi que la verdad no es algo que me molestara pero lo dejo por aca por si a alguie si le importara mucho eso.
Las hojas son del grosor de un libro normal de arte, son hojas matte de manera que incluso leerlo cerca de fuentes de luz o cosas asi, no se vuelve molesto como otros libros de arte que prefieren un acabado mas briloso.
Ah! Y que tan largo es? Bueno, tienes 223 paginas si no mal recuerdo, de ilustraciones y datos interesantes para poder disfrutar durante un laaaaargo tiempo.
Pd.- el dato que mas me ha impactado hasta ahorita, es q justin roiland cuenta que una de las "inconsistencias" del programa piloto, es que utilizaron 4 tipos distintos de parpadeos para Rick, asi que eventualmente se decidieron por uno solo para que su parpadeo fuera consistente!!!
Ese es el nivel de detalle que los grandes artistas ponen en su trabajo, y son datos que enriqueceran la manera en que experimentas y disfrutas cada episodio, de Rick y Morty!!!
