Each heading got me curious and keen to turn the pages and none of the chapters disappointed, quite the contrary. The author is a word artist in the best possible way.
This is a delightful guide with simple, life-affirming messages that will help anyone succeed in business and in life. How's this for a simple yet extremely powerful affirmation (from Coco herself) "I invented my life by taking for granted that everything I did not like would have an opposite, which I would like."
I was down in the dumps about something in my life and reading just a few pages of this book lifted me completely out of it.
The book asks that one question we all want the answer too: “What is success?”
The author summed it up nicely here:
“Being successful for increasing numbers of people includes: maintaining good health, energy and enthusiasm for life, fulfilling relationships, creative freedom, Well-being, peace of mind, happiness and joy. Success also includes the ability to achieve your desires, whatever these may be, and being true to yourself.”
The Art of Success is a powerful guide in business and in life, and the principles it teaches, focus on the ideals and lessons learned through Coco Chanel.
The 8 principles Cassandra talks about are:
-- Principle One, “The Call for Success” will help you explore the truth about success and define success on your own terms
-- Principle Two, “Empower Your Success,” will help you learn why igniting the fire within, love, and heeding the call for passion is the cornerstone of future success
-- Principle Three, “Empower Your Vision,” will help you clarify and visualize what you really want to achieve
-- Principle Four, “Empower Your Spirit,” urges you to pay attention to the things that feed your soul, awaken your curiosity, stir your imagination and create a greater passion in your life.
-- Principle Five, “Empower Your Mind,” looks at ways to cultivate a success mind-set. You’ll also identify strategies to overcome obstacles and to maximize your success, and ways to work less but achieve more to achieve greater balance and fulfilment.
-- Principle Six, “Empower Your Body,” recognizes the importance of a strong, flexible and healthy body to your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual success
-- Principle Seven, “Empower Your Relationships” will help you boost your awareness of how surrounding yourself with your tribe will fast-track your success, and also when it’s best to go it alone
-- Principle Eight, “Empower Your Work” and emphasizes the role of authenticity and doing what you are. You’ll also learn how to ‘fake it until you make it’ and be inspired by others success. Importantly you’ll learn how following your own truth will set you free.
What You Will Get From Reading this Book?
I felt really empowered after reading this, because the book hits you on an emotional level and not just “Do this to succeed” stuff. It is well-written and the author speaks from authority on the topic she is teaching.
My favourite part in the book is section 3: Empower Your Vision. The author tells the story of Chanel and how she had a vision for her success:
“Coco’s vision, and her resultant success, was clearly fuelled by a strong sense of purpose. She wanted to unbind women from their corsets, to free them from restrictions, to liberate them from bondage. And she did this by creating clothes that empowered.”
The author covers a lot of great areas of success that we nned to put our life into action by:
• Boosting Motivation
• Awakening the Seer
• Reinventing Your Life
• Affirming That You Deserve Success!
Cassandra shares a powerful message in this book The Art of Success. If you Do the Work, Create an Action Plan, Be Original, and know when to change, the success you thrive for can be yours. Nothing is holding you back except for yourself.
The book is filled with plenty of inspirational quotes as well, and is a definite winner for personal development and living the best life you possibly can…with simplicity.
