Many leaders are aware of what is at stake in passing the torch of faith to the next generation and tremble at the task. Many pastors and teachers filled with eager joy don't tremble because they already imagine themselves to be great teachers. Perhaps that is because they have such a great message to impart. But just because one has a great message and also even has some degree of ability to teach it, that does not ensure that they are able to cause learning to occur. Teaching is one thing. Causing to learn is something else entirely. This book is loaded with tips and tricks on how to cause learning that sticks.
This book is not a curriculum, so it has only a little to do with the content to be taught, but it has much to do with process and method and insight into the inner psychological and emotional workings of the still developing young teen mind.
The book is well researched and the gifted author is a well educated and experienced teacher. This author has a passion for your teens, a passion for your message of Christ, and a passion for helping you connect the two in a more effective manner. All this is done, but never at the expense of realising and proclaiming that faith development remains a power and process of God's Word and His Holy Spirit.
If you are a pastor or a teacher of middle schoolers, even if you are already experienced and good at it (or not), this book will help you become a better teacher.
