Christopher Finch was born in Guernsey in the British Channel Islands, and now lives in Los Angeles. He is an artist and a photographer who has had one person shows in New York and California, and he is the author of almost thirty non-fiction books including the best sellers Rainbow: the Stormy Life of Judy Garland, The Art of Walt Disney, Jim Henson: the Works, and Norman Rockwell's America. Recently he has embarked on a series of noir-inflected mystery novels set in New York in the late 1960s and featuring the private investigator Alex Novalis. The first of these, Good Girl, Bad Girl, is to be published by Thomas & Mercer in 2013. These books draw on his own experiences in the New York art world at a time when today's SoHo was an urban wilderness with rats frolicking in the gutters and artists eking out a living in barren loft spaces. He is married to Linda Rosenkrantz, an author and a co-founder of the website Nameberry.

As a book that produces the art of disney (particularly its animation) this book excels! It provides a complete history of Disney art and animation.

As an art book however it is quite disappointing. I was expecting the book to explore Disney art, instead it just describes what each film or piece of art is about - something that i found to be very disappointing and underwhelming.

The book is still great if your a fan of disney animation, especially considering its size!

This book is overwhelmingly amazing. I wish they would have added more of Disney's earlier stuff like from Steamboat Willie and mostly focused on Disney's early drawings and how he came up with Mikey Mouse. BUT i am not disappointed with this book. It does give a little bit of everything from Disney which is what anyone wants :)

Absolutely obsessed with this book! I'm a huge Disney fan and I have an annual pass to Disneyland. I thought about buying this book there but always decided that it would be too heavy to carry around and was pricey. Amazon's price was great so I bit the bullet and purchased it. Best purchase I've made. I get such joy out of this book and any Disney fan will too! It's a wonderful keepsake to pass on from generation to generation!

I CANNOT believe I got this so cheap. I had expected this to be a tiny book with generic information on the Walt Disney Company, but this blew me away. I am a huge Disney history buff and an even bigger Parks buff, so this was an incredible find, and for dirt cheap! I'd get it now before they're gone as the RRP for this book is £14.99! I seriously recommend this for any hardcore Disney fans. Or just anybody to be honest, because it's such a great read. Also, it has a foreword by Roy Disney, which is utterly amazing. The delivery was quicker than expected, which is a bonus. If I could give it more stars, I would.
